And then, WHERE is the |US and which way is it moving?"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Right off the bat the guy shows his skew of the world by redefining what is "left" and what is "right." How so?? I mean, based on the premise, his point is correct. And what is happening today in the US has a very little to do with the definitions he laid out. But let me ask you this. Lets say his premise is spot on correct. The definitions are correct. (for this question only) Based on what we are seeing in the US today, where are we on the line he describes and which way are we heading?"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." rushmc 23 #8 January 17, 2009 By the way, I do not cosider the R's in congress today to be on the right side of the scale in this discussion. Not even close. Including Bush"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." wolfriverjoe 1,523 #9 January 17, 2009 Yes, "right" is 'no government' and "left" is 'complete control'. I've always wondered why the "extreme left" of communism and the "extreme right" of facism/nazism seemed so similar. And marveled at how far from the original intentions of the writers of the constitution we have come. Right off the bat the guy shows his skew of the world by redefining what is "left" and what is "right." How so?? Because he has completely redefined the terms. Right and left have nothing to do with how much or little government there is. The term was first used to describe which side of parliament supported the monarchy of France. Those on the right side did. He has COMPLETELY flipped this and other traditional meanings to the LEFT side which means he's attempting to appeal to those that see themselves in a certain way as being "right" and all that oppose his views on the "left" or "wrong" side along with Nazis and Facists. He's reframed the language to suit his arguments and purposes in order to manipulate support for his arguments. It is NOT clear what he actually wants people to do. The entire presentation is muddled.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Amazon 7 #12 January 17, 2009 Hell based on posts here in SC over the last few years.. it seems many cant recognize fascism when they are supporting it. We CERTAINLY saw more intrusion of government into peoples lives than we have ever seen in our history... and the supporters of it assured us there was nothing to fear.. if we were doing nothing wrong
