kelpdiver 2 #2 January 5, 2009 QuoteDoes the article The Case for Walking Away give good or bad advice? Certainly good advice for the individual, but not the nation. The same is true of these bailout plans and foreclosure protections that punish those that try to keep up while rewarding those that don't. The end result is the best choice to to be a deadbeat. shropshire 0 #3 January 5, 2009 I'd say bad advice and poor moral judgment. She says the time to file is when you still have assets.. morally wrong.. if you still owe money to someone then pay that first, otherwise you put them in problems which are of your making not theirs. How does running away from problems ever solve anything? (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome

She says the time to file is when you still have assets.. morally wrong.. if you still owe money to someone then pay that first, otherwise you put them in problems which are of your making not theirs. How does running away from problems ever solve anything? Well said, not to mention that in the current climate, many of the creditors will work the debtors. There are certain things that aren't "bankruptable" like Student Loans. Also, bankruptcy does not guarantee that secured assets (house, car, boat, etc) will not be seized. Plus, if you forget to include debts during discharge proceedings, you're screwed. Really sh*tty advice...So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
