Why can't hey just have an indoor swearing in. And who is that bored they want to go freeze their ass off w/ 1-2 million other dumb fucking sheep?
I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

Hm. Maybe if right-wing whack jobs hadn't spent the past year threatening Obama's life 'cause he's a semi-mojo whose name is Hussein, all the extra security wouldn't be needed.

Since Barack means lightning in Hebrew, isn't it obvious to everyone that he is actually a black jewish irshman? Barack O'Bama?

Wow. 4 replies before someone blamed it on the Republicans. Nice.

What a freakin waste of time and taxpayers money.

Inaugural balls are almost exclusively funded by private donation.

The inauguration itself is a mandated event. True it doesn't have to be quite the scope of what this one is, but the basic security would be the same regardless of who won. The only exception being the security to take care of the over flow crowds that will be attending this particular one due to its historical significance. I don't hold that against anyone.

I just, as in a few hours ago, left DC. Preparations are well underway and this will be an amazing and historic event. I really don't care what side you voted for during the election, you probably should take the time to watch this one. Actual event takes place noon on the 20th. I highly recommend watching.

I blamed it on right-wing whack jobs who threaten violence based on bigotry. If you define that as "Republicans", well, that's your definition.

And my point was that it didn't take half a page before someone blamed the excessive spending on someone other than the people doing the spending.

Nonsense. The increased security is necessitated by the increased security threat. The blame for the expense is on those posing the threat, not on the parties who are at risk or those charged with protecting them.
