dmkellett 0 #11 December 30, 2008 As an eyecare professional, this makes my blood boil. I remember 1999 in the UK we had a solar eclipse and there were cases of people looking at the sun then. how stupid do you have to be to believe that some silly deity can be seen by looking at the sun? fixating the sun is painful, and you would think that people would have more sense, even in the 3rd world. This is simply sad in a sad way, the damage to the macula will probably be permanent in many of these cases. yet another example of religion causing suffering. DONT EVER LOOK AT THE SUN PEOPLE!!!! Rookie120 0 #17 January 2, 2009 QuoteDONT EVER LOOK AT THE SUN PEOPLE!!!! When I was is HS we went outside to watch the eclipse. I was in metal shop and all of us had welding shields on so I think we were safe. It was really cool to watch.
