No_Phear 0 #8 December 27, 2008 I welcome the many 'comments' I may recive for this.... I 1000% believe Jesus Christ was indeed the Son of God, and was God made man. He lived a totally sinless life, and died for all of our sins. He rose again 3 days after his crucifiction, and acended to the father where he sits today at his right hand. This I know, as certainly as I know that each time I take a breath, I will take in oxygen, and live. I may sound like a fanatic, and if I do, so be it. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and one day I will see him. The sad fact is that many do not believe, which is thier choice, but consider this: If Christians are wrong, then when we all die, it is just over, no harm, no foul. But if Christians are right, it's going to be awful hot for unbelievers. Everybody will live forever, just some will live in one place, and some in the other. Tact is not my specialty..... Coreece 190 #14 December 28, 2008 Quote You left out mentally ill rambler Here are some of the metally ill ramblings:"Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." "If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even scoundrels do that much." "Whatever measure you use to give- large or small- will be used to measure what is given back to you." "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything- all she had to live on." "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you" "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." "there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance." "heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to God than over ninety-nine others who haven't strayed away!" "The Kingdom of God isn't ushered in with visible signs. You won't be able to say, 'It has begun here in this place or there in that part of the country.' For the Kingdom of God is within you." "Why does this generation ask for a miraculous sign? I tell you the truth, no sign will be given to it." vortexring 0 #15 December 28, 2008 He was a person in whom our highest ideals and values somehow emanate. What is opaque in most of us, in him was transparent. So love and power and courage and all the highest human values were expressed in him. To that extent , he was the expression of God in a way that almost nobody else has ever really been. But I think the idea of him being God was superimposed later and that's not what I believe. It's too simplistic. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

nerdgirl 0 #25 December 28, 2008 QuoteAfter watching a documentary this morning http://jesusfamilytomb.com/movie_overview/about.html on the possible tomb of Jesus Christ (including his remains) ... Thanks for the link. Looks like an intellectually provocative documentary. I have to acknowledge that filmmaker’s assertions w/r/t the purported/alleged James ossuary caused a little skepticism. Skepticism not necessarily dismissal of validity in his underlying arguments or of the value of the questions he is asking. He’s correct that at the time the documentary was film the literal jury (in the trial of the antiques dealer) was still hearing the case. As far as I am aware, that the *inscription and connection to James the Just/first Bishop of Jerusalem* on the ossuary (not the burial box itself) has been shown to be, with little remaining doubt, a fake or hoax. Ancient Biblical artifacts is beyond my area of expertise -- so I'm not comfortable making an assertion on the merits of the arguments - my skeptics radar is piqued. Find it interesting nonetheless. Wiki summary of the James Ossuary case, mentioning (I think) the documentary you cited. And the James ossuary case doesn’t obviate the underlying arguments. VR/Marg Act as if everything you do matters, while laughing at yourself for thinking anything you do matters. Tibetan Buddhist saying
