pmw515 0 #1 December 22, 2008 I'm looking at purchasing one to carry. Any opinions about them? thanks in advance.
AggieDave 6 #2 December 23, 2008 Do you mean Kel-Tec? They make a lot of different weapons, which one are you talking about? I'm a pretty big fan of the P-3AT pistol they make. I've been meaning to buy one for myself for a number of years now. The "knife clip" accessory for it makes the weapon a winner for a BUG. http://www.kel-tec-cnc.com/p3at.htm--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #7 December 23, 2008 For the size, I would personally choose a better suited larger caliber (when compared to the Kel Tec 9mm). If you're choosing a primary carry weapon, there are better choices. If you're looking for a BUG, then its not a bad choice. For the liberals reading: BUG is a "Back Up Gun" which is carried since one gun may be lost or damaged during a fight.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Yup - scarcely an hour goes by that I don't worry about losing my primary gun in a fight.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. AggieDave 6 #10 December 24, 2008 No no no, you're wrong. See you're confusing a "throw down" which has no numbers and was bought off the street with a BUG which is carried in case you loose your primary weapon during a fight or it is rendered inoperable due to some sort of catastrophic malfunction. What might a catastrophic malfunction be? Ever get a factory round that had a light load or no load and you were able to fire the round with the primer? Did the primer have enough power to have the round exit the barrel? Ever see what happens when the next round is fired into the first round that didn't exit the barrel? Well, that is now a catastrophic malfunction and that weapon will cease to work until a gunsmith does major work.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." You're saying that it's necessary to carry a primary weapon, a backup weapon, and a "throw down" weapon then? jeez... how do you keep your pants up without suspenders?Owned by Remi #? AggieDave 6 #13 December 24, 2008 I've only put about 400-500rds through one. Enough to know that I like it for what it is. Find a similarly sized gun that fits your hand and shoots well. The next closest in regards to a BUG in my mind are the baby Glocks. You still can't make a baby Glock disappear like that little Kel-Tec. For the size and the weight, I like it. Something that helps is to take a paint pin or your wife's red nail polish and put a straight line down the top of the slide. It will help with point shooting since the sights are non-existent.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
