QuoteI have heard many Christians talk that way in the past though. Once they find out that you dont believe in the bible, they tend to look down on you. That doesnt sound very Christian to me.
I have heard this too, particularly in the southern states, specifically in Texas where it can get pretty nasty. There is definately a line that one could cross, but don't expect them to hold themselves accoutable to you.
Christians have the same human emotions and go through the same BS you do. Many of them were also viscious athiest and that visciousness is still with us, it is a process. They do skrew up and there are measures to deal with this, but do not think that being indignant is a sin in itself or not Christian.
Maadmax is not accountable to me, but I view his comment as being indignant.....nothing wrong with that.

Maybe I am mis-reading the tone of your post, but it comes across a bit condescending. If that was not your intent then I apologies.

No condescension meant. I wish all the best of luck in their spiritual pursuits. There certainly are a bewildering number of choices regarding the correct spiritual path. Regardless if that path is inclusive, exclusive, or a combination. Anyone seeking, has my highest respect.

I do believe that Buddhism and Christianity in their purest form are both peaceful faiths, however I do believe there is only one truth. Therefore, I do not believe Buddha and Jesus to be the same.

There does seem to be a common mythological thread concerning great prophets, including a lot of stuff that sincere thinking believers don't quite believe anymore, without throwing out the main body of teachings.
Virgin birth was ascribed to more than a few great men, including Alexander the Great, it's sort of the ultimate "whatta guy" compliment of the ancient world.
More recently, the Dalai Lama has said that he thinks the age of religious competition is over. He believes that the world's religions, at their core, are teaching the same essential truths and that people are wasting their time trying to argue with or convert others. He believes people should stick with their native beliefs and look to find the truths they contain, and use those truths in their lives and their societies.

Yeah, they're the same. One is a half-naked obese dude and the other is an anorexic hippy.

and why does Buddha look like a fat Chinese guy instead of a skinny Indian guy (he fasted a lot, and he was from India, not China)?

Because that's probably Hotei (or Budai) not Siddhārtha Gautama.

Buddha is a title (the englightened one), not a name, in the same way that Christ (the anointed one) is a title and not a name.
If you stop and think about it, you could ask the same question about most of the images of Christ: you don't see many that depict him as even vaguely Semitic looking...
