Must be the difference between Switzerland and the US. I'm in wonderful Switzerland at any given chance and feel safe all the time. In the US ...? It's simply a joke if you see the US and Switzerland on same level regarding gun ownership/public view on that. dudeist skydiver # 3105

TomAiello 26 #32 November 28, 2008 The crazy thing is that they actually have to be super experienced soldiers to get that job. Kind of like the Swiss guards. Goofy outfits left over from hundreds of years ago, with some pretty rough customers underneath. The USA has a ceremonial position that has a lot of similarities, too. It's just that the uniforms on this side of the pond aren't quite as old.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

shropshire 0 #40 November 28, 2008 Quote Quote They look like gay Ninjas I thought they looked a bit like those guys outside the Queen's house. [deep in-take of breath] .... that there's fighting talk sonActually, as I understand it, the Yeoman Warders don't guard the Queen's house, they protect the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London. I also think that they are exclusively selected from Senior NCOs or Warrant Officers. Buck House is guarded by the regiments of the Foot Guards (Grenader, Coldstreem, Irish, Scots & Welsh) - and these are proper soldier - not to be fucked with at all. (.)Y(.) nanook 1 #48 November 29, 2008 Me too! The Navy issued a lucky few of us with "M4's", which are really M16A1's modified to be M4's. I have "Auto" instead of "burst". Only went auto once and I would like to do it again. The range people here are kind of anal though. It's sad I have to give it up when I redeploy. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
