You can use rhetoric like that to win an election, but it doesn't do any good for the economy. Actually, I think if it wises people up to how serious this downturn is, that it could do good for the economy. There are still an unbelievable amount of people out there who think we're doing just fine and this will go away in a few more weeks. It is very serious, and it could be the next Great Depression. If people realize that now, and start spending their money more wisely and saving what they can while they can, it may help them out very much in the next few years. There are certain things an intelligent person should be scared of (and whether or not their country's leader prays to Jesus enough is not one of those things).www.WingsuitPhotos.com

DanG 1 #42 November 26, 2008 Right, like the hypocrisy of excoriating a man his religious convictions because he regularly went to church for 20 years, and then complaining about his lack of religious conviction when he skips church for two Sundays. The111 1 #45 November 26, 2008 QuoteWell, it's so easy. All you gotta do is bring a heinous murderer to justice You bring this shit up over and over again, and when people reply to you with the same point each time, you ignore them and refuse to comment on it. Several examples have been given of innocent people convicted of "heinous murder." What is your opinion on that? When is the execution of an innocent man ever an acceptable form of collateral damage? I have not seen you answer that question, you just repeatedly go on and on about how murderers need to die. I don't think anybody disagrees too strongly with that one. The major point of contention is that the government makes fucking mistakes, i.e. is not infallible in its criminal convictions. And I still haven't seen you address this issue.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

But saying it could be the next Great Depression sounds familiar: - We have to go to war in Iraq because they could be making a nuclear bomb. - Terrorists could be sneaking liquid explosives onto airplanes, so we should all throw out our bottled water. - The government could take away all our guns if we don't reign in those judges. - Vote yes on Prop 8 because all our kids could all end up gay and it'll be the end of the human race. The word could is an overused indicator of fear mongering. Yeh, I agree that many of your examples are bad coulds... because of the actions (war, waste, and prejudice) which result from jumping to conclusions too soon. However, what's the worst than can happen if we the people fear an economic depression? We save our money, stop living on credit, and in general take better notice of our own financial planning? The absence of these things is what led to this mess in the first place... In this case the action resulting from fear would be neither war, waste, nor prejudice... but instead savings and fiscal responsibility.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

No Mike but considering we have heard every bullshit none issue it gets old and your arguments and whole side looks weak and more irrational then ever that’s all. It looks like the republicans are trying to get revenge for Bush, but they are forgetting that Bush was president and by many account will be remembered as the worst. Some republicans take that personal but the reality is he has been horrible and his mismanagement has cost LIVES. How about we wait till Obama starts doing his job then start criticizing him for not cutting his toenails or something. There is a reason we didn’t like bush, It was not because of his religion, where he was from, or how often he went to church (The man was a cokehead). We disliked him because he betrayed the country and was a giant failure in all aspects. Frankly all this searching for a bull shit reason to hate Obama before he has even had the opportunity to show what kind of president he would be says more about the people looking for any reason to hate him then it does of Obama.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
