That would be the policy option that I would recommend pursuing. Pursuit of what might be perceived as vindictive retribution does not serve the interests of the US. Likewise, ignoring it, wishing it would ‘just go away,’ or being in denial about actions executed by individuals acting on the behalf of the USG does not serve US interests.
