happythoughts 0 #1 November 14, 2008 When voting (elections, amendments, etc) goes my way, I am pleased. In fact, when those of the opposite opinion continue to rant on afterwards, I respond with, "Get over it, you lost." If the voting was obviously rigged by the other side (because there was no way that people don't actually agree with me), then I protest loudly because we are being cheated. I have years of accumulated wisdom and know what is best for my less-intellectual (as I refer to them) brothers and sisters. So, if I am on the losing side of a voting mishap, it is incumbent upon me to continue to educate them for their own growth. It's just how I roll. Therefore, bear with me, I am here to help you. Now he has to actually name and execute programs. Just saying, "vote for change", does not make change happen. It also doesn't definitively make the "change" in the correct direction (I spend 12% of my driving vacations lost). Regardless, his supporters will say, "get over it, the people have spoken". In Calif, there has been some recent ballot determinations. However, the people on the losing side of that have not been so accepting. Name-calling resumes. So, no one really cares what the voters do. If it is not to their liking, then they immediately resume their crusade. I am actually surprised that people in Calif even care about legislation any more. Most groups just go to the court system and declare all offending legislation as violating a right. The legislative branch is all but neutered by the courts. The people speak, but no one cares.
