Problems that stem from gay marriages

Recommended Posts

so I was reading this thread, chuckled a couple times and scratched my head a couple times... but this made me think of the country song You Do Your Thing. I dont remember who it was written by..

"I'll worry about me, you just worry about you
I'll believe, what I believe and you can believe what you believe, too..."

No matter how much "they" stand on their soap box and scream at the top of their lungs the very thing you would spend a lifetime opposing with every last breath you take, they have a right to say it... as do you.

Kind of a cool concept, don’t you think? Tolerance goes all ways..

I liked your post.

Tom

I haven't read 98% of this thread, but .. what happened to majority rules?

Seems like nowadays we are trying to please apply the constitution to every freaking body.

One nation under god...so i guess that means we should follow his rules?

I have absolutely nothing against gays, in fact 2 of my best friends are gay, but i do believe that only a man and a woman should be able to marry, because marriage was created for such a couple.

Do whatever you want to do, its your life and i will not judge, i respect that, but for it to be viewed as proper and/or correct? Different story.

Are you kidding? did you really intend to say this? Isn't the act of you deciding if it is proper and correct judging? :S

Do what you want, knowing that its wrong, just don't expect it to be right.

Like i have been saying, its one thing to act, its another to expect that act to be right.

right/wrong. who decides? how about the maker?

Adam and Eve.

I'm not trying to get into an argument, i love all and respect all and do not deny ANYONE friendship regardless of belief or sexual orientation.

There is a reason why only a man and woman can make another human.

Why shouldn't animals be allowed to get married? It would stop Canines from behaving like Dogs and Bitches. Sound like a great idea.

I don't know who your maker is, but my parents made me and they have no problem with gay marriage. Guess that means it is right then?

What happened to the freedom of speach? Why can't people decide for themselves what they think about being gay? Why must the religious community be forced to accept anything when it is a religious right to do what they want just as it is the individuals right to do what they want.

Thats right.... what has happened to freedom of speech and freedom to do what everybody else does or get the same rights that everybody else gets??? Why can't people decide for themselves who they want to get married to?? Why must the religious community feel like they are obligated to police who gets what rights? You're right, it is an individual right to do what you want, within law, and there is no legal reason why you shouldn't be able to marry the person you want to despite if their purple, blue, black, man, woman, handicapped, Jewish, Muslim, etc, etc.
Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)

I may be completely off base on this and I have honestly not looked into it in the least...

I was under the impression, or perhaps the misconception, that most gay marriages were performed in civil ceremonies at courthouses or other official places that do such things.

If that is indeed the case, what does religion have to do with it at all? (I know, naïve of me to ask reading all the threads, but seemed a salient point to this discussion)

It seems that some people are just generally pissed off and it makes them feel a little better about themselves as long as someone else is suffering.

religion aside...a woman was MADE for a man to be able to continue the human race, a man was not made for a man, and a woman was not made for a woman (although pretty sexy if you ask me) :P

So i guess you guys would feel its ok for the entire world to turn gay? Bye bye human race.

And that comment about your maker....its not necessary to take that so literal. You obviously knew what i was talking about.

I just don't care what anyone else does and can't grasp why anyone would. I just think that people should be able to have the same rights, regardless of their sexual preference. I mean, in some states you can marry your cousin....as long as their not the same sex as you.

So do you feel that a man/woman has the right to marry an animal because they sexually prefer it? You did state that you don't care what anyone does...

There is a reason why a female and male work together, for every animal/human. And there is a reason why only those 2 combined can keep the world going. God created that marriage bond between a man and a woman so who are we to change that?

Do whatever you want, just don't ask for it to be equivalent to the right thing.

Saying that God created marriage would imply that anyone who doesn't believe in God is wrong too. I don't believe and I'm married. Saying that it is a certain way because God intended it to be that way would be making the assumption that everyone is to abide by Christian doctrine, which is pretty silly if you ask me.

"One nation, under god"

So ya, the laws in this country should be backed by the fact that there is a god.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

What happens when one participates in a religion that accepts, tolerates, or encourages gay marriage?
