I fully expect it to be slow and sometimes painful. If you came home from an overseas trip and found your spouse had let the house fall into a state of substantial disrepair while simultaneously running your debt up far beyond your ability to pay (and perhaps defaulting on some payments), you wouldn't expect everything to be all better the next day. The111 1 #4 November 5, 2008 QuoteAny specifics? The specifics are in the yahoo article, the one this post is about. For many people, those expectations are a "reset" of the fantasy land they were living in. For me (and I'm assuming Dave, but I don't want to speak for him), those were already my expectations. We've been in deep shit for years and it's still getting deeper. Nobody, no matter how smart, charismatic, or powerful, can pull us out overnight. And trying to put bandaids on our festering wounds will probably just make the mess bigger. Not to mention that if people get free handouts for their mistakes (gov't eating debt/mortgages that people willingly took on), they will never learn from them.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Begin repairing relationships with other nations Expedite withdrawal of troops from Iraq Solicit further assistance (not just military) for Afghanistan Develop policies on acceptable treatment of current "detainees" to include trying or releasing them and instruct DOD, DOJ, and intelligence agencies on acceptable methods looking forward Begin working on 2010 budget and tax structure, cutting spending on things like defense and increasing spending on alternative fuel R&D Compel Congress to pass legislation for improved education (K-12 and college) Start vetting SC appointees to replace the ones who last night said "Whew...finally I can retire!" Compel Congress to pass legislation reforming our healthcare system (most likely in graduated steps) Compel Congress to pass some "service" type legislation, e.g. GI bill but including civil service rather than just military etc, etc, etc...he's got his work cut out for him Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" And what they didn't blame on Clinton they blame on Carter.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
