lawrocket 3 #4 November 5, 2008 QuoteColorado has voted three times to legalize. Doesn't matter - cops still bust smokers on federal charges. Yep!!! And you can thank the liberal wing of the SCOTUS for this, too. It wasn't Clarence Thomas who opined thatit I'd proper for the feds to regulate purely intrastate conduct. No!!! Too bad... It won't be the state pen. It will be a federal pound me in the ass prison where they'll be doing time. My wife is hotter than your wife.
TrophyHusband 0 #5 November 5, 2008 QuoteSimple....... abide by the law if you need it for medicinal purposes. or break the law if you need it for other reasons. i just can't see why the feds waste money on this shit. i just believe that there's any way that the fines paid for violations make more money that the cost of enforcement. LongWayToFall 0 #7 November 5, 2008 There are allot of variables. If you can get access to a doctor to give you an approval for medical use (this will not be your regular doctor!) than you are in the clear mostly. The paper he gives you, plus your drivers license is proof enough. This will keep you safe from jail time, but not from harassment. I would recommend not smoking in the public's view, and invite yourself to being hassled. Your state may or may not have medical clubs starting, this is one big benefit of having a club card. Feds are prone to busting these facilities however, but usually don't bother arresting people that are there, just the owners (lots of times on tax related charges along with the drug distribution). State authorities are required to abide by state law, so if you have your paperwork in order, the worst that can happen is that a cop refuses to accept it, you get arrested, and as soon as a judge sees it, you are freed. Keep your eyes open for a club (where you buy green) and call them to see where people are getting recommendations. Set up an appointment and enjoy. Remember, doctors will be more prone to giving you a full prescription (1 year usually, although cali used to be 2 years) for problems that are long lasting. IE sleep disorders, (for those looking for alternatives to over the counter drugs which might make you drowsy in the morning) back pains, anxiety etc rather than a sprained ankle which will heal up after some time. One last thing, cali now has a state card, which is linked to a database. This is good for easy access to confirm that you are a card holder, however it is possible that this goes into your "record" and might come up later in life with a detailed search. The paper you get from your doctor and a state ID should be adequate, and is usually preferable. Remember, state officer= state laws. Don't take that shit into an airport. TSA=go to jail. skydiver30960 0 #10 November 5, 2008 There's a pill called Marinol (generic: dronabinol) that will provide THC in a pill form. We use it in my unit as an appetite-booster in very ill patients. It's controlled in the same fashion our other narcotic meds are controlled. Same good THC, none of the messy rolling, bong water stains, or difficult conversations with the guys in blue. A person can now have "up to " one OZ... and Not be criminal.. There is a fine of 100 bucks, and the forfeiture of said "lid"... but No arrest, no felony, no misdemeanor.... The same populace also voted DOWN a prop. which would have ELIMINATED state Income Tax... ... which i am not sure i follow....( unless it was made clear, that Property taxes and commodity taxes, and sales taxes, would go 'through the roof'....) anyway.. at least there WAS something of a common sense approach to MJ, demonstrated by a substantial block of voters....I wonder if Mitt Romney and John Kerry will now feel free to 'spark one up', the next time they visit Teddy K...jmy

LongWayToFall 0 #16 November 5, 2008 I don't think anyone really seeks out treatment in MJ, rather they do it anyways, think that it has benefits, and decide to seek a legal way of enjoying it. Everyone knows that smoking things can't be good for your lungs, but you can also eat it. Anything that you get addicted to, can cause major problems in your life, but the occasional toke to help you go to bed or just relax on a boring day is a spice of life. I quit smoking reefer almost a year ago, before that I was an everyday smoker. My reasons were cost (saving for rig) and I wasn't motivated enough in my life, I figured. Once things settle down and I am in a comfortable position, I will most likely smoke again. In the meantime, I have been drinking a bit more to displace the smoking, and I can't say that that has been beneficial. Whatever things you do in life for fun, you have to find a balance, getting there can sometimes be a rough road. As far as legalizing herb, I think it would be hard to do. I think possession of less than an ounce should be only a fine, possession in your household of the same, not criminal. People should be allowed to have 1 mature plant in their house. This would promote the "do what you want in your own household" sort of thing. I would also promote the use of mouth dip sticks by police to test for MJ use in the last 24 hours if someone is driving a car, it most certainly slows your reaction time. If somebody isn't bothering you, isn't selling your kids drugs, isn't causing any danger to you, than you should stay the hell out of their business. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=BNbExvU42q4
