lawrocket 3 #1 November 5, 2008 Here in Fresno, it's the new black. "Gather a bunch of people together and put them on corners to hold signs and cheer for 'Vote Yes on 8' or 'Vote No on 8'" I find this pretty damned disturbing and frustrating. I mean, yesterday it was 8:30 in the morning and I saw kids out there. "Shouldn't they be in school?" I thought? No. Doing their parents' political bidding is too important. I can see the discussion. "Hey, kids. Let's got protest and tell the people to vote yes on Proposition 8." "Gee, dad. Um... I don't think want to do that." " "But, honey, if we don't do it the Sodomites will win. Do you want that? We need to vote Yes on 8!" "Gee, dad. I don't know. I can't even vote." "Come on, Natalie. You'll be glad in the future you did this to demonstrate your civic involvement." "I don't know, dad. I'm only in kindergarten." "That queer Billy will be across the street. His mother is a hippie dyke." "Billy tells me that his moms both say that you are intolerant, and that I should be a real woman and do what he says." "Yes, dear. That's why he will burn in hell." "Oh. Okay. Billy's asked me about Christianity. Maybe you can convert him. But I think his mom is really pretty..." My wife is hotter than your wife.
