Jayruss 0 #1 November 4, 2008 I'm tired of all of you that are voting for the first time or are voting for the first time in a long time. I'm sorry but you are the reason we have had 8 years of Bush. Maybe if you had voted when it wasn't sexy our country wouldn't be in such bad shape. Voting shouldn't be something you do when we finally get desperate enough, it should be done every opportunity you have. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
downwardspiral 0 #2 November 4, 2008 How about we encourage people who are voting for the first time or the first time in a long time instead of berating them for actually voting? www.FourWheelerHB.com
Amazon 7 #3 November 4, 2008 I have voted in EVERY election since I became old enough and able to do so. That voting record includes local elections where only things like tax levies and local dog catcher are on the ballot. Most of the tax levies fail because not enough people are willing to vote. OH ANd you cant blame me for the incompetent in charge.... I did not vote for him or his crew of fellow travellers either time.

Amazon 7 #5 November 4, 2008 Some districts I have lived in required a certain percentage of the electorate to vote for the results to be valid to pass a levy.

Wow, must be tough to get a quorum, unless other more "interesting" things are in the same election.
JerryBaumchen 1,451 #8 November 4, 2008 Hi Amazon, Quote I have voted in EVERY election .....fellow travellers either time. Count me in with you. I have never not voted since I first became eligible in '64. Even if billvon likes to say it won't make a difference, I consider it my civic duty. Oh, and I spent 3 yrs 10 months & 24 days in Uncle Sammie's uniform. I like to think that I understand civic duty.* JerryBaumchen * But I may be wrong. DSE 5 #9 November 4, 2008 Quote It only takes one voter, total, and I doubt that you've seen a turnout quite that low. Not where I live. If less than 33% of the district turns out to vote, the district votes are not counted. I live in an area where we don't get polls, we only are allotted mail-in. Easy as hell, yet for some reason, our district struggles to make the 33% cut. This year, looks like we will count. Who knows...there is a snowball's chance in hell my presidential vote will actually count this year, as all 5 of Utah's electoral votes will go to McCain unless Obama can take the pop vote this time around. I'm with you, Jerry. I've always voted since age 18. Therefore, I earned the right to bitch and whine.

So have I, I did two things on my 18th birthday, made my first jump and filled out my voter registration form. I've voted in every election since 1997 when I turned 18. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes

Jayruss 0 #12 November 4, 2008 Quote How about we encourage people who are voting for the first time or the first time in a long time instead of berating them for actually voting? My point wasn't to berate, rather reveal what can happen when one doesn't exercise their rights. How lucky are we to live in a country where we can vote, or have the option of more than one candidate on a ballot? __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
