If the world could vote.

Recommended Posts

Seeing how the large majority of people outside of just a handful of countries that would typically have internet access (and read english) are academics, that makes sense.

It'll be interesting to see if the US vote parallels this web based stunt.

Fuck them. They're not Americans. We are. Let's keep it that way. but we want to keep policing the world anyway

Emphasis mine. ;)

We really can't have it both ways. Besides, not giving a shit what the rest of the WORLD thinks is:

1) Short sighted
2) What got us into this mess in the first place
3) Our current foreign policy (which clearly isn't working).

edit: Don't misconstrue this as me thinking the world should vote ;), I'm just commenting on not being flippant about caring what they think.

It's clear that the voters are voting against Bush primary, rather than a choice of the two. Also, with the US at 81% for Obama, you have selection bias as McCain supporters are less likely to be looking at it.

I think it's interesting to look on a country by country basis and try to rationalize the varying levels of support.

But what's the story with Macedonia? It's the only one voting McCain, and in big numbers.

Exactly what I was thinking. There's obviously a skew towards Obama, but I didn't expect 99% of the countries to be in favor of Obama.
