miked10270 0 #1 October 22, 2008 Is it time for a little light relief from a certain election? Since SC contains such a diverse & discerning group, I wondered which is the preferred Browser for scurfing the internet? Just to keep it here...and away from all those bloody VIBES: Do Y'All use the ObamaOpen-Source Firefox by Mozilla or is it the Evil-Empire Internet Explorer by Bill "Palin" Gates? Obviously, there's a Write-In option for those who may have a better alternative. Mike. Taking the piss out of the FrenchAmericans since before it was fashionable. Gawain 0 #2 October 22, 2008 Quaint....though Bill Gates plays both sides of the fence...he backed Sen. Kerry and President Bush in 2004 and he's on the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! nerdgirl 0 #5 October 22, 2008 Most commonly use IE but I like Safari a lot. VR/Marg Act as if everything you do matters, while laughing at yourself for thinking anything you do matters. Tibetan Buddhist saying
Andy9o8 2 #6 October 22, 2008 I switch between IE & Firefox. I find IE is sometimes slightly faster than Firefox. But Firefox has ad-blocker, which is nice, and tends to make sites like DZ.com faster. Down-sides: IE tends to be targeted by more browser-hijacker shit than Firefox. Firefox is a larger program, so sometimes it's a bit slower. FF also has a few software glitches interacting with the DZ.com site.

Andrewwhyte 1 #10 October 22, 2008 I really like demeter. It has a very minimalist screen and is faster than firefox most days, but yahoo mail does not support it so I switch back and forth.

shropshire 0 #13 October 22, 2008 Yeah, I like it. It's small and compact (and so "seems" faster). but I've not been able to Block Adds, which is a problem for me. Opera is good, because of the built in Torrent engine and had Tabs and a main switch screen before IE. (.)Y(.) StreetScooby 5 #14 October 22, 2008 My boss is a big fan of Opera. Is Chrome java based? You might be able to program it yourself to block the adds.We are all engines of karma
shropshire 0 #15 October 22, 2008 Not sure if it's Java based - I may investigate when I get the chance..... But some student will do it sooner or later (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome
