How someone could do this to a child is beyond me, I just hope the step mom rotts in prison and then in hell for eternity. Sometimes work can really suck. Coming into a situation like that is my biggest fear as an EMT, I really hope I can restrain myself if I am ever called to a scene that involves child abuse. I was digging a pan out of a lower cabinet the other day and didn't realize she creeped up on me while I was halfway in the cabinet. My elbow hit her in the side of the head when I was squirming out. I felt horrible for the rest of the day and she didn't even have a bruise. I couldn't imagine purposely hitting a child....for any reason...ever. Truly was still breathing on her own after removing her from the vent but she is not expected to make it more than a few days.
