Is the McCain Campaign Crumbling ?

The idea of Sarah Palin as VP isn't all that onerous to me. Chances are she'll never need to take over the presidency.

Statistically, the chances have worked out to roughly 1 in 5. Do we adjust to account for McCain's age & health? I'm undecided. An insurance underwriter or an actuary would probably say yes. An historian would note that Eisenhower and Reagan were both old and survived, while Garfield and JFK were still in their 40's when they died.

As a pretend actuary, my advice is don't believe everything Matt Damon says. ;) He must've been using an outdated Mortality Table....or doing an ever popular trick of adjusting interest rates until you get the number you like!

That being said, Sarah Palin still gives me the heeby jeebies, and I don't understand why McCain chose her over other, more qualified individuals.

I don't approve of boorish ignorant behavior in general.

I didn't see Obama suggesting an entire ethnic group could not be responsible family men, nor has the campaign encouraged bad behavior like the McCain campaign has.

The liar's scorecard is telling, too:

But I do understand your despair.

And Biden is only 6 years younger than McCain, if I recall correctly - do you have the same fears if he should succeed to the Presidency?

No, because I'm confident that a President Biden would appoint a Vice President more qualified to succeed to the presidency than the "running mate" that McCain picked.

That is nice, so in general you don't approve of violence by the democrats but you don't completely disapprove of it.:S So what are the exceptions to the "in general" that you think it is okay for the democrats to act violently? By Obama not denouncing the violent acts of the democrats, he is by omission encouraging them.

Please also explain how the democrats accuses any white person that votes for McCain as being racist but if a black person votes for Obama they are not.

Not at all - I'm sure you have a DIRECT QUOTE from McCain explicitly stating that Arabs aren't responsible family men to prove your point.

Or, you could be kicking up dust and talking bullshit - again.

McCain: "No, ma'am, he's a decent family man"

Everybody that has decent morals got that, when he said it. Neo cons however, can't get their head around what is wrong with those words because they agree with them.

So you try and justify your position by name calling and telling hundreds of millions of people that they don’t have “decent morals” ? Not only is what you say wrong but it shows a total lack of basic respect towards others, elitism and a lack of facts to back your position.

If you also had done your research you would have found that there was a huge bipartisan praise for how McCain handled the issue. So you can take one of two positions, first that he was correcting what the woman believed or second, you are trying to create and keep hatred among people.

You're right, we did - he said that Obama is a decent family man.

See, *Obama* is the subject of the sentence. Arab is an adjective. In McCain's reply, the word "he" is referring to Obama - if he were referring to Arabs, he would have said "they".

This English composition lesson brought to you by the Republican Party, the letter "M", and the number "44".

What a very strange question. People are scared of McCain dying in office because of who his VP would be.

IF Biden had to take over the presidency and IF he then died in office it would be scary IF his VP choice were as bad as Palin.
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Coming from someone who disagrees that Palin wants to deny abortions to rape and incest victims based on her own words, lessons on sentence parsing from you don't seem to have a whole lot of credibility.

Coming from someone who thinks that opinion = legislation, your protest has NO credibility.

Bachmann said something funny the other day:

"In fact, it’s conceivable that the Democrat majority in the Senate could be large enough that the traditional minority right to filibuster would be entirely eviscerated."

Yep. And if she keeps it up, she might just see that happen.

Read your own first quote, above. Opinion != legislation, professor - isn't that what you said about Obama and the 2nd?

See, *Obama* is the subject of the sentence. Arab is an adjective.

You got me thinking about my sh*tty English skills.

Where is the adjective in "... an Arab"?? Sounds more like a substantive to me.

OK, today I like to be the nitpicker :S

;)

"I don't trust Obama...he's an Arab."

Obama is the subject, Arab is the adjective describing Obama.

I'm pretty sure Arab is a noun when used in that way.

No. It is being used to modify the subject noun, Obama.
