If The World Could Vote!

Which of course they can't!>:(

So... This site is purely for fun and should NOT be used by President Palin when she's making up her "Countries to Stiff" list!:D

damn shame that,

It will be interesting how many will vote on this site before the election.

Good thing, too. If Hillary made the cut, they definitely would not have voted for her. I wouldn't have either, but for different reasons. Even though there is still a great amount of sexism in this country, it pales in comparison to just about every other country I've visited.

I think our current President proved twice that the popular vote isn't that important

Interesting that out of the 60,000 us citizens
(people voting from america, i had to vote for australia as it wouldn't let me choose my home country)

81% voted for Obama!

Quite different from other polls we have seen?

maybe skewed as righties probably write off the website as a leftie conspiracy.

The US vote is almost certainly skewed for the simple reason that it doesn't really count. In this poll people can anonymously vote with their heart, wheras come the ACTUAL election then people will also be voting with their wallets.

The multitude of polls that are seen on the television and newspapers are not actual votes, how can a poll shown on TV today re: Obama Mcain be from actual votes?

It couldn't be.

All those polls show a much closer race, they always do and they can't really be used as a real indication of what is going on, the organisers can target specific places.

Polls are supposed to be random but when are they really?

Considering most of the world has come to very much dislike the U.S., it doesn't suprise me that more than 80% would like to see our country fall apart.;)

:D:DFor that to happen, we'd have to care:P

Well.... ummm.... by voting on that site or even voicing an opinion, don't you? :P

Honestly though, WTF do you care? (not you specifically Shrop, but in general) It's not like I worry about who the PM is or who might be running Oz? I don't have a big concern over Germany's leadership either. Why should a non-US resident care about who I think would be best for the future of my country?

Do you really think that McCain or Obama will change your life in any way? Either positive OR negative?

Whereas my life will be GREATLY impacted by which candidate gets elected. . . . from the money, to the medicine, to the personal rights

They might not care what you think, but since the US is currently the richest and most powerful country, with a war or two going on, foreign aid to any number of countries, and hugely influential financial and university systems, yeah, some of them care. For all the same reasons that we paid attention to who got the presidency in Iran; there is an influence.

All joking aside, it matters, Karen, because when the US of A sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold.

The world is inextricable joined (we're seeing this right now with the current Credit situation).

So it does matter who the next president of the US is and it also matters who the next PM of Oz or UK is and it really matters who ends up running Pakistan.

We can't affect it, but we are affected by it.

I know you're right, but it just seems like ........

I don't know how to word this well

This election has placed a lot of pressure on the US population. And a population that isn't too politically savvy at that. Cute commercials or catch phrases. Slogans and advertising. How many people TRULY know the differences in the two differing health care proposals (The Partisan Divide. NEJM 359;8) or rights / restrictions (not just the 2nd, but all personal rights)

The US government has become too complex and to taxing on the people... and now the people have to think about the impact of this election on Herr Schmidt and Nushi Chen....

I still think that Douglas Adams had it all right. :S
