Ever watch Keith Olbermann?

Recommended Posts

Which brings up an interesting point.

O'Reilly NEVER refers to Olbermann by name; only by side-ways references, but yet he does that a LOT.

It's like the childish people in the Harry Potter books that are afraid to say the name of the villian.

out of curiousity, how often do you watch o'reilly? i watch him on average of 2-3 nights per week, and i haven't noticed this. granted usually while its on, my wife comes home from work and i'm fixing dinner at the same time, so its possible for me to miss these references. now that its been pointed out, i'll look for it, but first i'm going to watch olbermann (i just don't have the time to devote to both shows in the same night). i'll watch olbermann until he trashes o'reilly and then watch the other for references to olbermann.

I haven't watched Dobbs quite some time - since he did that moronic 'War on the Middle Class' advertisement for the DNC during the last election cycle. Has he gone conservative?

Didn't know Olbermann and O'Reilly had a feud. Haven't watched O'Reilly in some time either. THe last time I did he was slamming the hell out of GWB over something.

This says it better than I can.

Long story short, WAS a self described "lifelong Republican" until the 43rd Administration decided to go on adventures.

He is still fiercely fiscally conservative. I was watching him on the day the Senate decided to vote for the bailout with the 150 billions spoonfuls of extra sweeting . . . the guy was having a fit . . . and rightfully so.

I think if you have a second look at his book "War On The Middle Class," you'll find he is pretty much right on the money.

Read this review from a couple of years ago;
Quote

From Publishers Weekly
Starred Review. Though a self-confessed "lifelong Republican and a strong believer in free enterprise," Dobbs's opinions have evolved away from mainline GOP and corporate dogma. Charging that the Clinton and Bush administrations have waged "class warfare" on the American middle class, he criticizes their free trade policies, which have eliminated manufacturing jobs in the U.S., either outright or by outsourcing them. He's scornful of a GOP that panders to its fundamentalist religious base with bills that focus on abortion, gay marriage and the Pledge of Allegiance while the huge federal deficits ("an estate tax on the middle class and their children") spiral out of control. He rails against the K Street lobbyists, like Jack Abramoff, and their friends in Congress; chastises the credit card and banking industries for engineering the new bankruptcy law to their own profits; and criticizes the press for its sloppy "he says, she says" journalism. But Dobbs risks slipping from populist to demagogue in his jeremiad against the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in this country and his support for the vigilante Minuteman Project. Agree with him or not, Dobbs remains a refreshingly bold thinker who refuses to be intellectually pigeonholed.

I have always enjoyed listening to Lou Dobbs.. and he is closerr to what I believe than any other commentator. That review is utterly right on.

It amazes me that so many neo-cons on here worship the ground that GWB walks on when they have been so wrong and deride Dobbs when he has tried to point out just how wrong they are for America. I guess they dont like the truth being told on them.

i watched olbermann on monday for the first time in a while. this was the first time i've seen him that i didn't hear attacks on fox news and bill o'reilly. it was, however, an hour long anti mccain/palin tyrade. i don't really care for his style, but that opinion could be skewed because so far i've agreed with none of his opinion. i suspect that until the election, he give give us more of the same so i'll wait until about a week after the election and give him another shot. while he is certainly firmly in the left camp, i wouldn't say his views are extreme

as an aside, i remember an angry lesbian named rachel that used to be on air america. is this the same chic that's on after olbermann?

Angry? She's positively gay!

Yes, it's the same person. My guess is she's probably a lot cuter in real life than you though she was on the radio huh?
