TheAnvil 0 #1 October 4, 2008 Whew! I've visitors in town and they had on MSNBC today. Some fucktard by the name of Olbermann was doing a show. If he's a journalist, then I'm 6'9" and one hell of a basketball player. Does the DNC fund that guy? Obama's campaign? I mean Lou Dobbs is bad enough, but this guy was just over the top. I was stunned. If he's not on Sen. Obama's or the DNC payroll - he should be. Sheesh. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! Amazon 7 #2 October 4, 2008 Aww Poor little Vinny.. having to watch something other than FAUX News... tsk tsk tsk... Whats wrong cant handle commentary that is "uncomfortable" for you... and not telling you what you want to hear??
Andy9o8 2 #3 October 4, 2008 Olbermann's the counterpart to Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. They're to the right; he's to the left. What's wrong with that? All 3 of them are "over the top"; and any suggestion that Olbermann is more so than Hannity or O'Reilly is just laughable. You must be very fragile. That, or you need to get out more. Or change the goddam channel more. Fox "News" is rotting your brain, Boy. As for Lou Dobbs - the fiscal conservative business reporter....he hates illegal immigrants and just did a HUGE bitch session this past week about the "liberal media" (his words) being tougher on Palin than Biden. So if HE bothers you, I think that says more about your perception than it does about him.
Amazon 7 #4 October 4, 2008 Personally I like the job Lou Dobbs is doing...he is telling it like it is.. I can remember when he was the conservative go to guy on the block... amazing that he is too liberal for some of these people...

quade 4 #6 October 4, 2008 I occasionally watch him because he does more than just the political indignation thing. If that was the ONLY thing you saw, then yeah, I might be able to understand why you think he's just a wee bit over the top. Hell, most of the people left of center think it's over the top, but it's funny to watch his righteous indignation veins popping out of his forehead and it about to explode. I will say this though, as over the top as they are, they are well written and somewhat eloquent in their sometimes obscure referencing to speeches of days gone by. He really does do some funny as hell stuff in a segment they call "Oddball," which is a collection of wacky clips from around the world. I think about once every four months or so he does a complete show that's nothing but the best of his "Oddball" segments. Those are REALLY fun to watch. His daily "Worst Person in the World" segment is usually a person from the right, a person from the left and Bill O'Reilly. The "standard" just being Bill O'Reilly as being the actual worst person just as a matter of course. They have a fairly well known feud going on and this is part of the "joke" of it. His "Best Person in the World" segment is usually about some lesser known people doing good or charitable work. These are usually people not covered by the Big Three networks and is part of his "it doesn't have to be all bad news all the time" philosophy. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
grimmie 186 #7 October 4, 2008 You never watched "Sports Center" on ESPN? Fox Sports? Is this the first time you have even seen Olbermann? If you like him you should stay tuned in and watch this really hot chick named Rachel that has an awesome show right after his "Countdown". Damn she's smart, and sexy. He is more in the tank for the Republicans (unless they go against his anti-immigrant jihad) than O'Reilly. Personally, I'll take Olbermann or O'Reilly any day over Dobbs. TrophyHusband 0 #13 October 4, 2008 i've watched him a few times, but every time i've seen him he was putting a lot more effort into trashing fox news and bill o'reilly than giving his news/comentary. as for the feud between him and o'reilly, i think it takes 2 to feud and o'rielly rarely mentions olberman. i would watch him a little more often, but frankly the "fox news sucks" schtick gets old. downwardspiral 0 #15 October 4, 2008 I liked Olberman quite a bit when he was on ESPN and I caught his show Countdown from time to time and found him entertaining but after the Palin's speech at the RNC I realized he is profoundly biased against the republicans. If I would have been drinking and took a drink everytime he said Palin didn't write the speech, I would have been flat on my face drunk within an hour. I was actually surprised to see him on after the VP debate considering he was supposedly barred from giving his political opinion by MSNBC due to his very poor analysis of the RNC.www.FourWheelerHB.com

He's led a petition drive to fire Olbermann, and has tried negotiation with the show's producers to get him off the air. The two have been at each other's throats for years. quade 4 #18 October 4, 2008 QuoteI was actually surprised to see him on after the VP debate considering he was supposedly barred from giving his political opinion by MSNBC due to his very poor analysis of the RNC. I have NO idea where you got that from. MSNBC has made a fortune on him specifically from his opinions. Just like Fox with Limbaugh, they certainly aren't going to brush him aside no matter what kid of a publicity nightmare he is occasionally. True, they've taken him out of anchoring the November election coverage due to his previous on camera fighting with guests and a co-host, but . . . in that role he would have been under huge pressure keep tone it down and now he'll be allowed to do commentary. The thing he excels at and what most people will tune in to see him for.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #21 October 4, 2008 QuoteWell I was going working from memory based on a report I'd seen on the news but here is the real story. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/08/msnbc-hosts-olbermann-matthews-booted-from-political-night-duties/ If you think for a second that the story you're reading from Fox is the "real" story . . . well . . . uh . . . no. Olbermann and Mathews had an ON SCREEN fight that didn't exactly show the "gravitas" required of people anchoring election coverage. Further, Olbermann said some stuff OFF SCREEN loud enough to be picked up by active mics that proved to be just embarrassing. If you want to say MSNBC caved to pressure from the "right" you're just fooling yourself. MSNBC bowed to pressure from their parent NBC not to look silly on election night. TrophyHusband 0 #22 October 4, 2008 ok, i found it. it sounds like bill was being facetious with that petition, and nowhere in it did he call for keith olbermann to be fired or even mention olbermann's name. it was obviously a joke. to say that "He's led a petition drive to fire Olbermann" is false. like i said, o'reilly rarely mentions olbermann. i think the last time i heard it was right after the rnc thing and i can't remember the last time before that. every time i watch olbermann, he trashes o'reilly. they may have been at each others' throats in the past, but there's no feud going on right now. quade 4 #23 October 4, 2008 Quotethey may have been at each others' throats in the past, but there's no feud going on right now. O'Reilly does it off screen through business channels. Olbermann doesn't have connections like that so he does it on screen. O'Reilly may actually be more effective in his way, but Olbermann is way funnier in his.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

billvon 3,119 #25 October 4, 2008 > it sounds like bill was being facetious with that petition . . . Some direct quotes: O'REILLY: Time now for "The Most Ridiculous Item of the Day." Bring back Phil Donahue. It was three years ago this month that MSNBC fired Mr. Donahue for low ratings. We felt bad for Phil. They didn't give him much of a chance. Phil actually said his firing was a mistake, and he was right. His successor, after three long years on the air, actually has fewer viewers now than Donahue did when he left. That is a disaster. So, in the interest of fairness, we have a petition on BillOReilly.com to bring Phil back. If enough of you sign the petition, we'll send it over to NBC and hopefully, Phil Donahue will get the chance he deserves. Let's all go to bat for our pal, Phil. ============== Actual petition: Dear Chairman Wright, we, the undersigned, are becoming increasingly concerned about the well-being of MSNBC and in particular, note the continuing ratings failure of the program currently airing weeknights on that network at 8:00 PM EST. (editor's note - this is Olbermann's slot.) The median age of viewers of this program is 58.7. The median age of viewers of Mr. O'Reilly's program: 68.6. If you want to be concerned about well-being, Bill, be concerned about the odds of your viewers living into next week. It is now apparent to everyone that a grave injustice has been done to the previous host for that time slot, Phil Donahue, whose ratings, at the time of his show's cancellation three years ago, were demonstrably stronger than those of the current host. Therefore, in an effort to rescue MSNBC from the ratings basement and to restore the honor and dignity of Mr. Donahue, who was ignobly removed as host three years ago, we ask that you immediately bring back Phil Donahue's show at 8:00 PM EST before any more damage is done. ==============
