You don't mean the life of a child in a botched abortion do you? I thought the abortionist murdered the live baby by sucking its brains out.QuoteAnd I'd be willing to bet that they've even saved a few lives.
Perhaps you can find a few fundamentalist "right to life" women who will be surrogate mothers for the fetuses sired by rapists when the rape victims are forbidden to get abortions.
The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

No. I mean through prevention of STD's, cancer screening, etc.

Seriously, I would think surrogate mothers could be found.QuoteQuoteYou don't mean the life of a child in a botched abortion do you? I thought the abortionist murdered the live baby by sucking its brains out.QuoteAnd I'd be willing to bet that they've even saved a few lives.

Best of luck, you'll need to find a lot (over 90,000 rapes in the USA last year).
Funny I don't hear of a lot of volunteers to save those fetuses right now.

Ok, I'll keep it classy. Funny you should ask, but my first daughter was adopted. 2 years later my wife had a baby daughter. After my adopted daughter's failed marriage, she dropped off her 6 month old daughter whom we have to this day. We have guardenship over this 5year old who just started kindergarten. Her mother remarried, had another girl, but we still have her daughter (they talk a couple of times a week). end of storyQuoteQuote...botched abortion do you? Zero for zero. And how many children have you adopted Rick? Or, perhaps a more fair question: "What contributions do you make to foster or help underpriviledged/unwanted children?" Or is 'life' no longer your concern once it's outside of a woman's body?
Keep it classy.

However, I ultimately respect your family's choice to adopt. Very much so. Unfortunately, I do not believe that your actions are representative of a majority of hard 'pro-lifers'.

I know of two couples that I attend a small church with who are adopting out of country because of a shortage? of children. Both already have at least one child.
How many of the 90,000 victims became pregnant?Quote

I don't know if anyone keeps those data.
I still think you'll need a lot of surrogates. Nothing right now stops fundie women from offering their wombs to rape victims who would otherwise abort, but I don't hear of it happening very much.

I'll jump in in solidarity with rickjump1. My parents not only raised their 8 biological kids but also took in 4 foster children who were brutally raped and abused by their own father. One of those foster daughters became pregnant as a teenager as the result of a rape (this was not by her father). My foster sister courageously gave life to that child and he became my 5th foster sibling. My parents prosecuted the rapist who ended up serving 10 years in prison. They never sought a dime from any governmental agency or any agency for that matter.
They never just talked the talk, but rather walked the walk.

I was adopted at 6 mos. I don't know my history. I could have been the product of a rape. Does that mean my life is worth less? Had I been conceived in 1978 (20 years later) there's a good chance today I wouldn't be here. And then John would have one less admirer That's why I'm conflicted on the abortion issue.
Roxanne adopted 2 kids, both mentally retarded, and continues to care for them today.
My point? There's alot of incredible people you never hear anything about.

Just as nothing right now stops atheist women from aborting the rapist's fetus (or anyone elses) - did you have a point?
Don't forget your proof - you know, legislation and such.
I love you, Shannon and Jim.

There is no shortage of adoptable children here in the US. There may be a shortage of healthy, white babies in particular (and healthy babies in general), but there is not a shortage of children, even healthy children, waiting to be adopted.

probably in part because then you would have all those other idiots out there complaining its wrong. we have people saying stem cell research is wrong, abortion is wrong, birth control is wrong, drilling for oil is wrong. seems like there is always a group saying what someone does is wrong.
Color is no issue here. One young couple has been trying to adopt a couple of brothers in Hati. Now they are worried about their safety after the hurricane. The other couple in their 50's want to adopt a child from Guatemala. This couple have a special needs son at home. I'll show them the link.QuoteQuote
