Or is the studyy saying that maybe 10% are negatively prejudiced against blacks but balanced somewhat by maybe 4% who are positively prejudiced for blacks? Interesting story. It indicates that racism is still pretty widespread, but also very significant minority of Americans are racially prejudiced. There is still work to be done, but it is heartening. No, it states that the net negative effect of racism in the electorate, all else being equal, is a 6% disadvantage to a black candidate for president just on account of being black.... Well then, that's just one extra hurdle for the Obama campaign to deal with. So far they've handled everything the Clintons spewed at them for months on end. It's unfortunate that anyone would vote for or against any of the candidates because they're black, or a woman, or even an old white guy. This country is in the deepest shit it's been in for a very long time. If we don't get it right we could see our economy and social order fall apart. We could see another World War (the last one came about in large part because of the Great Depression).
