One of the men was also accused of having sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl. Benjamin Murphy, 27, of Akron, Richard Effinger, 59, of Parma, and Larry Nolte, 29, of South Euclid, were indicted after a year-long investigation by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force headed by Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason. "These predators are peddling more than just images of children. They are supplying the demand to a sickening industry of abusing and raping children," Mason said. Combined, they are charged with 159 counts of multiple crimes. Effinger will be arraigned Sept. 9 on 15 counts of pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor and one count of possessing criminal tools. Murphy was indicted on 19 counts of pandering and five counts of possessing criminal tools. Nolte is charged with 119 counts, including gross sexual imposition, corrupting another with drugs, possessing criminal tools, pandering obscenity, importuning and pandering sexually-oriented material involving minors. He was arraigned last week and posted a $100,000 bond. According to Mason, this is how the cases unfolded: Detectives in Broward County, Fla., discovered Effinger had sent 10 images of child pornography to a Florida man from July 2007 to January. Broward investigators contacted the Ohio task force, which searched Effinger's home in January and found 16 images of known victims of child abuse. Murphy sent videos of child pornography to an undercover detective in August 2007 and a search warrant was executed at his house, where more child pornography was found. Eleven of the children are known victims of sexual abuse, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Nolte sent an undercover detective 15 images of child pornography in August 2007. A week later, he sent 195 images of child porn. In January 2008, detectives seized his computers and found archived chats and a child pornography collection. Detectives also identified a 15-year-old girl whom Nolte solicited for sex using the Internet. He met her at a park in August 2006, gave her marijuana and engaged in sexual conduct with her.
