Muenkel 0 #26 September 15, 2008 Billy, It is true what you have learned in regard to McCain's treatment of his first wife. What you also should know that when asked what his worst regret in his life was while at Saddleback, he replied 'The way I treated my first wife'. Sounded humble and sincere to me. _________________________________________ Chris
FallingOsh 0 #27 September 16, 2008 To be fair, his exact words were "my greatest moral failing, and I have been a very imperfect person, is the failure of my first marriage. It's my greatest moral failure.” -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.
Muenkel 0 #28 September 16, 2008 I appreciate you quoting his exact words. I didn't take the time to research his exact words but rather point out that he publicly acknowledged his regrets in regard to the treatment of his first wife. Maybe Obama will take a cue from him and be more forthcoming about his relationship with Rev. Wright. _________________________________________ Chris
n23x 0 #29 September 16, 2008 So, just to be sure: The matrimonial bond is so important that it should be shielded from same-sex couples, but if you fuck up and dump your wife (for better or... what?) saying sorry handles the bill? Craptacular. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Way to fit in the Obama smear based on a quote taken out of context (and way overblown at that) of the reverend of his church. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! Just to clarify, before this thread spins rapidly out of control, are you saying that Rev. Wright's comments were taken out of context or did I misread that? -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life. I have no problem saying that it appears to me that Obama loves his wife and children. Good for him...seriously. Reminds me of Todd and Sarah Palin. What I do have a problem with is Obama doing a 180 on Rev. Wright. You know, the Rev. that performed his marriage ceremony and baptized his children. That was a political dance from the candidate who first coined the phrase of 'change' in his campaign. _________________________________________ Chris
marks2065 0 #37 September 16, 2008 morals are morals wether you are dealing with marriage, church or daily life. Both McCain and Obama are guilty of bad moral standing along with the rest of us. The difference between McCain and Obama is that the dirt on McCain is mostly very old and Obama's is mostly recent. Obama hasn't proved over a period of time that he has the ability to do better. The recent crap put on by both in sleezy comercials has been disapointing, granted they don't put the comercials together but they do aprove them. I along with the rest of the serious voters want someone to sit down and actually spell out a plan on how they will fix the problems we face, not just tell us how wonderfull things will be after we elect them potus. Obamas tax numbers just don't add up to any economist and McCain hasn't described the what regulations he will put on big buisiness ceo's. I guess that we will have to wait until the debates to get any serious info from the candidates.
