What the hell you all afraid of?

OK, that's a reasonable question. And here's the serious answer:
4 to 8 more years of the same, or worse, horrors as the past 8 years.

You frame the this as all is bad. I dont agree. Besides, it is a sound bite mean nothing political type bull shit statement not worry of posting. Yet you did it anyway:S

I did a rare thing for me: I responded directly to one of your posts. And, in doing so, I tried to speak reasonably. Should I regret the effort?

OK, so what is reasonable? You speak in genrealities of what? 8 more years of the same? WTF does that mean?

It means nothing. It is an emotional statement with no facts behind it.

Care to try again? I get tired of this same "well, eveyobody KNOWS he is bad" bull shit.

Get specific or expect the same.........

If the last 8 years was so fucking wonderful why is McCain distancing himself from Bush? Why is McCain talking about change? Why do all the right wing pundits talk about how McCain is his own man, a maverick. Well if bush and the Republican congress were so great why would McCain talk about changing Washington?

You ever folloewed the national media?

that created perception is what he is moving away from, not any facts.

Have you compared Bush's and Congress approval ratings lately?
By the way, the media labeled McCain a maveric, not McCain, he is just trying to keep that lable now.

And if Obama is change, why did he pick Biden?

Yesterday Biden made the comment that Obama made a mistake picking him over Hillary.

No, he didn't. Perhaps you didn't read what he said. It's not that surprising, given that McCain's camp didn't either.

Quote

"Make no mistake about this," Biden responded. "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate, so let’s get that straight."

Ok, I may have miss stated what he said but, I was really wondering what everyone thought. I made no comment other than that and the shit flies.

And I am the irrational one here.

What the hell you all afraid of?

What shit did I let fly? All I said was that you misquoted him, perhaps because you didn't read what he actually said.

"and the shit flies" was not directed at you. Sorry if it came across that way. It was more of a reply to some in the thread

You ever watched a national political convention?

What was the last time a President did not make a personal appearance at his own party convention? When was the last time a presidential candidate NEVER mentioned the current President by name if he was a member of his own party? How about the VP candidate? Not only did she not mention the President by name, she didn't mention the President AT ALL.

If you think that McCain distancing himself from GWB is just media manufactured mythology, then you AREN'T paying attention.

I won't deny they haven't; never have. I find it odd you won't admit the same about McCain and GWB.

It's ok rush, you actually can admit to the issues of some of your leaders without us thinking badly about you. In fact, we'd actually respect you more if you could, but it certainly appears you can't.

I am not saying is isnt so. I only give the reasons. Which are not the same as you imply.

And I assume greenies can get away with respect PA type comments cause after all, who is going to ban you:S

Ah, the "indignation card."

Rush, if I was going to make a personal attack against you, I wouldn't sneak it in, it would be much more blatant. I'm actually saving it though. I have it in a text file that is to be uploaded upon my death just so I can -finally- have the last word. ;)

Biden will not drop out, unless he wants to repeat the fatal mistake of Tom Eagleton in 1972, which sealed the fate of an already doomed McGovern ticket.

Obama is far from doomed, he's still the likely winner. Especially since Pitbull Sarah Palin is now ready to hop into a war with Russia.

I agree he will most likely stay. I dont agree Obama is the most likely winner. that is yet to be determined. It is his to loose though, I will give you that

Yesterday Biden made the comment that Obama made a mistake picking him over Hillary.

So, opinions on

1) Will Biden remove himself and Hillary will take the VP spot

or

2) Biden will drop out but Hillary will not take the VP spot even then

and finnaly

3) If he does drop out and she does take the spot, will it make a differenct at this point?

I don't think he used those words, and if he did, he was posturing. Are you not able to figure out that he was trying to regain any female voters wooed by Palin to the right?

Do you think that if he did, the dumbass masses would realizes, "Holy shit, talk about the biggest motherfuckin' flip-flop of all time!" and think Obama's an unreliable moron and withdraw their support?

If they weren't insane, they would.

I dont know.

But this scenario scares the hell out of me[:/]

Meaning that you fear the Dems will win.

Then you've proven that you have irrational fears.

The ONLY way Biden drop out is if he drops dead.

Why? Former NYC mayor Ed Koch said that Palin "scares the hell out of" him.

No, he wanted to give Clinton supporters all the credit to Hillary to ensure they stay there and not fall to the strategy by McSame to bring in Palin and pull them over. It' strategy and counter-strategy.

I don't think so. It would be political suicide for Obama to switch-up now. It would only look like... 'Hmmmm... McCain has a woman running mate. I think, I'll try that!' Obama is smarter than that. Obama, needs to get down to the nut-cuttin' and let the voters get the meat and potatoes of what he plans to do if, he gets the presidency. Let McCain keep slinging mud. Obama knows he can't afford to lower himself to mud-slinging. Besides, I don't think, Hillary would take the V.P. as a 'second fiddle' choice.

Chuck

Right, it's just strategy to keep Hillary supporters on the left and not to Palin.

That's not what he said, and no, he won't drop out to let Hillary in. And, considering what his actual comment was in response to, I'd say he was just being careful not to say anything negative about Clinton because they need to keep as many of her supporters as possible.

That's what I wrote b4 I read this.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>Have you compared Bush's and Congress approval ratings lately?

Approval ratings are secondary reactions at best. Any body could be doing well and receive a low approval rating. Look at GHWB before and after the Gulf War, then after his largest tax increase ever, so popularity ratings mean nothing, other than how people whimsically feel that day.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.By the way, the media labeled McCain a maveric, not McCain, he is just trying to keep that lable now.

Who cares who labeled him how? Does it change results?"

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.And if Obama is change, why did he pick Biden?

Obama is fairly new to Washington, and somewhat left. When choosing a running mate, he had to sensibly choose someone to fill teh gaps where he might receive criticism, so he chose experience and someone a little more conservative.

Obviously McSame chose to try to steal Hillary votes, so he chose a woman which is fine, but he could have chosen someone closer to the middle, that's where he fucked up. People will say he shored up the far right conservatives by choosing her, that is simply ridiculous since the far right, even if they dislike McSame would have to go with him not Obama. It was desperation as he was behind.
