WSJ editorial on Gov. Palin

Oh, I think if you knew Erin Brockovich a little better you may have a different opinion. It doesn't detract from what she did. She did a marvelous thing (along with Ed Masry (never knew him), Tom Girardi (the most effective attorney I've ever known (hint - don't ever try to arbitrate a case against the dude)(another hint - he's a helluva personable guy. He signs his correspondence, "Love and kisses, Tom." I doubt anybody else can get away with that)) and Walter Lack (great attorney but, his arrogance is legendary (at least homey can back it up)).

But - let's just say that the aformentioned split a little under $150 million of the settlement. The residents of Hinckley felt pretty screwed.

As far as the original article, I think this quote reiterates my opinion of the GOP:

"Today's congressional Republicans could learn from this. The party has been plagued by earmarks, scandal and corruption. Most members have embraced the machine. That has diminished voters' trust, and in the process diminished good, conservative ideas."

EXACTLY!!!

Including several $Million in earmarks for Sarah's own town. She's had her finger in the pie as much as the others.

"Good conservative ideas" apparently include forcing raped women carry the rapists child to term (Source: Eagle Forum 2006 Gubernatorial Candidate Questionnaire Jul 31, 2006 ). Maybe the rape victim doesn't think it such a "good idea".

Anyhow, the GOP will have a hard time convincing people that it's changed its spots and that it deserves 4 more years in the White House.

Edited to add:

In 2006 Palin wrote on the Alaska Eagle Forum questionnaire:

"I am pro-life. With the exception of a doctor’s determination that the mother’s life would end if the pregnancy continued. I believe that no matter what mistakes we make as a society, we cannot condone ending an innocent’s life."

That answer remained on the forum web site until Sept 1 this year (1 week ago). Now it has been deleted, along with her other answers.

Funny, that!

I guess it didn't occur to the censors that it was mirrored elsewhere!
