JohnRich 4 #8 September 3, 2008 QuoteI'm impressed, I can't disassemble mine that fast. Well, with practice you could. But that's the easy part. The tough part is cleaning the sum-beech. I'd like to see how fast she can do THAT. I have a special cam-pin in the rear that pulls the upper receiver down tight onto the lower half, to eliminate the wobble in the fit. It takes a hex wrench and screwdriver to get that sucker out, so that slows me down a bit. The only other difficult part is getting hold of that firing pin retaining pin. You need something pointy to poke into the eye of that cotter pin to extract it. A bullet will do, but you don't want that laying around while you're cleaning... And I'll bet she didn't take the time to make sure that the gas piston rings on the bolt had their gaps staggered.
warpedskydiver 0 #9 September 3, 2008 They found that even with the gaps lined up on the rings, it still works. I use a Mcfarland 1 piece ring, the work great but take some breaking in. IIRC it is in the SOPMOD upgrade kit.
