Nancy Pelosi talking to God??

Recommended Posts

He was warmly received by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called him "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time."

Pelosi said the following while introducing BO at a CA fundraiser for Obama. How soes the speaker know this? I thought only nutjob republicans talked to an imaginary God in the sky?

Well, there IS precedent. I wouldn't worry about it too much, but if she starts up with "redrum.....REDRUM", let me know.

Any time I hear any politician invoke God's name the warning bells go off.

Oh yes...the savior...the messiah.... What a load of crap.

I could not agree more. I really enjoyed Obama's answer from the Saddleback debates when he was asked:

Warren asked both candidates, "At what point does a baby get human rights?" Obama said, "I think that whether you are looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade" (Los Angeles Times, 8/17).

When you are running for president nothing should be above your pay grade. Either you believe that life begins at conception or you don't. But as usual Obama answers a question with babble and nothing concrete.

So you think all US presidents should be experts in science and theology, then.

No, not at all. But I do believe that as a presedential candidate you should answer questions in a clear manner. When McCain was aksed the same question he answered that he believes life begins at conception and that he will be a pro-life president. That was a clear concise answer. Obama's answer was the opposite. We all know he is not pro-life so why not come out and say it? Because he is trying to play the middle for votes.

>When you are running for president nothing should be above your pay grade.

You mean other than, you know, being God.

I love it. Of course, had he answered and given an authoritative, no-gray-areas statement, he would be arrogant, and if he had answered the question literally - when a soul enters the body - conservatives would post "he thinks he's chosen by God, like Pelosi said."

But since he said that the theological and scientific details were above his pay grade, he's ignorant, or pandering.

We could make this easier, so you don't have to type so much. Have a standardized form:

Obama sucks today because he's:

-Too smart for his own good
-Not smart enough to run the country

-Talks too much
-Doesn't talk enough about the details of his X plan

-Is too eloquent; isn't a good ol' boy
-Is too chummy

-Thinks he's the Messiah
-Thinks God is so much better than him; he must be an idiot

-Is arrogant
-Admitted he didn't know something

Just check a box. Check more than one box if you like! But be sure to alternate every once in a while to make it look good.

A little defensive are we? My point stands. In the debate McCain answered questions clearly and Obama talked alot and said little. My example shows that clearly.

The question was "At what point does a baby get human rights?"

Not about when does life begin or when does a soul enter the body.

The President of the USA is not the arbiter of human rights, either in the USA, or in the world at large.

McCain's answer was the arrogant one.

Maybe his answer was arrogant but at least you know where he stands. That is not the case with Obama and his "above my paygrade" copout reply.

No.. but that is what the fringe right religious whackjobs want you to believe..

So since you deride the republicans for claiming to, will you now deride the democrats for doing the same?

If Nancy does not "talk" to God then how does she know that BO is a blessing from him? Could it be that her lips were moving? And if her lips are moving then what follows is normally BS.

Please.

Do you ever say, "God bless you," when someone sneezes? How dare you presume to know what God will and will not bless!

When parents say they have been blessed with wonderful children to you berate them for deigning to know God's intentions?

This thread would be funny if I wasn't sure that you were actually serious.

We have a man in the White House that has said, in no uncertain terms, that God speaks directly to him. You are trying to equate that with a phrase clearly meant to imply nothing more than, "Thank God we have a candidate who is not a total dumbfuck like the current Commander in Chief."

Are you sure that I am serious? It is hard to convey sarcasm via the internet.
