Not to mention 'big businesses' and anything else they can buy that is this country. That's been happening for DECADES....doesn't make it right, just pointing out the fact. Oh yeah! I first heard of it in the early 70's. I guess, when someone flashes the big bucks, someone else is going to give in. Chuck Pretty much, yes... just about ANYTHING has a price - bump it up high enough and almost ANYONE will sell.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. What do you think of the idea that foreign interests are owning parts of our nation? Does it bother you? Are we that damned greedy? Chuck

Are U.S. investors buying-up parts of Europe or Asia or anywhere else? I don't know, to me, it just seems wrong. On the other hand, am I just not 'getting it'? Andy9o8 2 #155 August 21, 2008 Then write to your Congressman and Senator and urge them to push for laws limiting foreign investment or ownership in American assets. Or, in the alternative, you could recognize that it's a global economy and promote American investment in foreign assets.
masterrig 1 #156 August 21, 2008 Am I to assume, you don't see anything wrong with selling-off our country to foreign investors? I am well aware of the fact we live in a 'global economy' but, selling our nation? Yeah, right! Like any of our politicians are going to do anything about it. I wonder, how many of them have sold property to foreign investors. Chuck
Andy9o8 2 #157 August 21, 2008 Like I said, you can either promote strict protectionism, as some other countries have done, or you could promote Americans keeping things in balance through investment in foreign assets. Also like I said, if you prefer the first choice, campaign your Federal lawmakers to make it happen.
masterrig 1 #158 August 21, 2008 Fair enough. In other words, you don't care if, we sell-off this country to the highest bidder or not. Protectionism? You bet! Chuck
