Random thought: Human nature's a funny thing. It's amazing how many millions upon millions of people absolutely hate the guts of people they've seen naked.

And now back to our show.

Better yet, home school them. Then you could really mind fuck them.

My cousin has three daughters, all home schooled thru 12th grade.

One is a medical doctor (OB/GYN) in her residency.

Another is a defense lawyer working in D.C.

The youngest will graduate as an RN next year. I reckon she's the failure among them.

Home schooling without a strong, narrow ideology can be quite good. Add an ideology such as was suggested in the OP, (this is a discussion stemming from the OP, right?) and you have an opportunity for mind fucking you would never have with kids exposed to counter points of view.

For example, from one of many white power sites on the benefits of home schooling:

"Rearing ideologically aligned children is seen as essential for the vitality of the movement, and so the home becomes an ideological shelter for Aryan resistance. According to a member of the Southwest Aryan Separatists, "We all know the movement begins with the family so if you can't save your family then what's the point? The family is what we fight for -- it is the struggle -- keeping your families pure and raising your kids among your kin so you don't have to worry about the 'nons' (nonwhites) coming in."

"Homeschooling is the most systematic form of political socialization in white power families. As an Aryan mother and homeschooler explains, "European culture is fading and our tradition is being stripped away, so we have to do something to fight the assault. With the public schools just promoting filth and hypocrisy I can't imagine sending my kids there so I teach them here and I know the more we do this we will be ensuring our children have the tools to preserve our culture."

They, too, hope their children become nurses, doctors and lawyers ...'ideologically aligned' nurses, doctors and lawyers.

Your coment is stupid at best.

Really? So what would be the most systematic political socialization tool for white power families? You sound like you know alot about it from your comment.

Would you say, then, that non-schooling is a tool to be used by inner-city gang families? The dropout rate in the inner cities is disgraceful, right? And they do not seem to be homeschooled.

Is homeschooling worse than non-schooling? Neither one presents different viewpoints.

p.s. - with the exception of Stand and Deliver, why do all school success movies involve white teachers going into the hood (I spent my formative years in the ghetto. Perhaps it explains my viewpoints in the world).

The true white power families are in the north east, with there private schools and there pre paid ivy leage school. Has nothing to do with home schooling. Those ivy boys have never seen the inner city! I went to school there, i know what being lower class is like.

I think it might partially explain your lack of concern for others and choosing to be a lawyer.

It's essentially impossible that the Germans could have taken the US, and even if they had defeated England and Russia it's not likely they could have held Europe indefinitely.

Moreover, though, your point is irrelevant to the thread. The question isn't about the contribution made by veterans of the 'Greatest Generation.'

Maybe you as an American should realise

1. The open admiration of the US towards fascism at the beginning of the 20th century.
2. The interaction between US business and European fascism
3. The US reinstating of both Nazis and Nazi collaborators to power after the war

Which is not to rob the US WW2 veterans of their respect because the only people who do that are those who claim they saved the world from speaking German and hold them on a platform well above all the other men/women of the allied forces.

That is certainly conjecture, and would be a really interesting conversation. Remember, despite that, Germans did in fact, land in the US during the war. Their roles were meant to be covert.

In fact, I'll take the tangent with you now. :P If the Battle of Britain, and Operation Overlord had gone the other way, and Germany had been able to advance to Iceland, and finished their own nuclear development.

Agreed. I understand the OP. To coin the phrase: there's more than one way to skin a cat.

Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock, did something not to be forgotten.

On the first day of school, with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she removed all of the desks out of her classroom. When the first period kids entered the room they discovered that there were no desks. Looking around, confused, they asked,

'Ms. Cothren, where're our desks?'

She replied, 'You can't have a desk until you tell me what you have done to earn the right to sit at a desk.' They thought, 'Well, maybe it's our grades.'

'No,' she said.

Maybe it's our behavior.' She told them, 'No, it's not even your behavior.

And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom.
By early afternoon television news crews had started gathering in Ms. Cothren's classroom to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of her room.

The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on the floor of the deskless classroom.

Martha Cothren said, 'Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me just what he/she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you.' At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it.

Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniforms, walked into that classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside the wall.

By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned.

Martha said, 'You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. Now, it's up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it.'

By the way, this is a true story.

If anyone questions whether this is true or not, see here:

While I'm all for teaching respect, that sounds a little bit to much like installing a guilt complex. Also it gives the impression that the only way to serve your country is via service in the armed forces. Better to have a more rounded approach. Also it doesn't teach those kids anything about what those men did or why its out of context and doesn't say anything of the negative aspects of serving in a war.

Actually alot of us do speak German, they teach it in school you know. In fact if it wasn't for those pesky Vets they wouldn't need to waste our tax on teaching German in school and we could all be learning Arabic instead!>:(

To continue the story -

Their parents then walked in, picked up all the desks and left. "Let this be a lesson to you. None of you would be here without your parents, just as there are no desks here now. Don't ever forget that. You owe them everything."

Then firefighters and police walked back in with the desks. "Just remember that these brave heroes are the people who made sure you and your family survived to be able to sit in those desks. Always remember the debt you owe them, and how they enabled you to sit in those desks at all."

The kids made for the desks, but before they could sit in them, scientists came and stole them away. "You may think you have a right to those desks, but without the scientists who ensure you get clean water and safe food, and who enable us to make desks to begin with, you'd be standing there all day - if you could stand at all, that is!"

Doctors then came back in carrying the desks. "Lest any of you forget how indebted you are, these are the doctors that assisted with your birth and kept you healthy enough to be able to BE in class. Without them you not only wouldn't have those desks, you might not have your health - or even your lives."

The children raced for the desks, but before they could reach them, teachers ran in from the hallway and snatched them away. "You wouldn't have desks without teachers, now, would you? Consider yourself lucky that these teachers care enough to both teach you and snatch the desks away to teach you an important lesson about how much you owe those teachers."

The state governor and his staff then walked back in carrying the desks as the teacher started in on another important lesson. The children eyed the desks and then sat on the floor, thus learning the most important lesson of all about trusting adults.

Trees walked in and strangled everyone with their roots because they weren't happy about their friends and family members being turned into desks.

Playing devil's advocate, I wonder, would the teacher have let a student have a desk if they had replied "I personally didn't do anything other than fulfill my obligations of completing the necessary paperwork and showing up for my class at the appropriate date and time. However my parents paid our federal, state and local taxes on time."
Also, it was a trick question. As the teacher pointed out, the students did nothing to "earn" the right to sit at a desk. It was also very unlikely that any student would have given the teacher the answer she wanted.
