normiss 906 #1 August 1, 2008 Snoop Will a recent state supreme court rulings be used or have any impact on this case? Some states follow some 60 odd year old precedent established by the supreme court regarding illegal search and seizure in that smelling drugs is not sufficient to warrant a search and arrest....WTF? Surely Snoop has the resources available to help to properly defend these gentleman, no?

That's in terms of a residence. A tour bus, although considered a residence when parked, is a vehicle while moving. Thus it doesn't fall under the same protections as proven by the courts for a residence. The courts have ruled time and again that a vehicle is not as protected in terms of warrant less searches with probable cause. Still makes me laugh though. Snoop Dog sings about drugs, his party gets busted for drugs. Willie Nelson sings about drugs. He was busted for drugs in his tour bus as well. If someone sang about free donuts and cash, I bet that bus would get stopped too.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." normiss 906 #4 August 1, 2008 Not quite accurate...a number of states have found that "smell" is insufficient to search a vehicle also. State supreme courts have backed that up as well.
