Rookie120 0 #1 July 16, 2008 QuoteBlagojevich: Chicago May Need National Guard Help With gun violence at a crisis, Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Wednesday said he is in talks with Illinois State Police and the Illinois National Guard to see if more police officers can be deployed to the streets of Chicago. The governor said Chicago Mayor Richard Daley hasn't asked for help, but Blagojevich says he'll call the mayor once he has some concrete suggestions about what help he can provide. Blagojevich didn't have many specifics, but he said it's more likely that state police will be brought in than the National Guard. Blagojevich also said there are a lot of retired Chicago police officers and state police troopers who could be rehired for the summer. It's ok. Daley will just pass some more anti gun laws that I am sure the thug criminals will follow. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! kelpdiver 2 #2 July 16, 2008 But...But...Kallend has been bragging about how low the gun crime is in Chicago, how it's dropped so dramatically! How can this be?

warpedskydiver 0 #7 July 17, 2008 I can cut down crime for 10k a day.Or they could just pay me 20 million up front. Of course that needs to come with a Presidential pardon.
kallend 2,150 #8 July 17, 2008 QuoteBut...But...Kallend has been bragging about how low the gun crime is in Chicago, how it's dropped so dramatically! How can this be? Rookie120 0 #9 July 17, 2008 QuoteHow does it compare with Dallas? Dallas isn't calling the National Guard in because the crime is getting so bad. Thats for starters. Seems all those gun laws don't mean DICK to a criminal. So how is keeping guns away from law abiding citizens helping things in Chicago? If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! SkyPiggie 0 #14 July 18, 2008 So how come the governor thinks that help from the National Guard is necessary if you've got all those fancy gun control laws in place? Are you going to be happy seeing soldiers patrolling the streets with M-16 rifles?
kallend 2,150 #15 July 18, 2008 QuoteSo how come the governor thinks that help from the National Guard is necessary if you've got all those fancy gun control laws in place? Are you going to be happy seeing soldiers patrolling the streets with M-16 rifles? The governor is probably going to be indicted for corruption. He is casting around for any issue to draw attention away from his personal problems. This is a red herring. Despite a declared gang war in progress, I believe Chicago STILL has a lower homicide rate than Dallas, TX.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. What I posted is all the article had at the time. Dont like it? Tough shit! Who gives a damn if Daley has asked for the NG or not? Whats the point? I was just pointing out that all the gun bans in Chicago and crime and muder rate is still high.If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! You do, apparently, since you mde a point of mentioning that Dallas hadn't. Quote Whats the point? I was just pointing out that all the gun bans in Chicago and crime and muder rate is still high. So you admit that your comment in the following exchange: Kallend - "How does it compare with Dallas?" Rookie - "Dallas isn't calling the National Guard in because the crime is getting so bad. Thats for starters." was a red herring because you tell us now that you already knew Chicago hadn't called in the NG either.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. SkydiveJack 1 #23 July 20, 2008 All this back and forth banter is healthy. But both sides can’t disagree that the National Guard has never been contemplated being called up by the powers that be, due to legal gun owners. That is all. Carry on.
