Give me a break. And you wonder why real issues don't come up during a campaign. I'll bet that CNN gave air time to this bullshit yesterday instead of talking about education plans or social security issues. It's fucking dumb that this is even considered news worthy

OK - so you're of the opinion that all primary voters educated them about the issues and voted according to those. Adjustments in perceptions of race gained in things like TV series or other media had not impact whatsoever on voting behavior in your view.

Fair enough - if this is how you see the American voting public.

He dpes scuba dive... which according to the actor is what he does during his free time

He hosted a show on the discovery channel diving into several Shipwrecks that were sunk during and shortly after WWII.

I especially enjoyed seeing the history of testing the effects of a nuclear blast on a fleet of ships performed near Bikini Island.

If anyone is interested you can read about Bikini Atoll at wikipedia and one of the operations he discussed in the show was Operation Crossroads which was some of the nuclear tests we performed there also the two ships I saw him dive to were the USS Saratoga and the Japanese Battleship Nagato.

it was a really neat show... and when he said the "F" word ("first", for those of you with dirty minds) I wondered if they had similar rules in Scuba as they did in Skydiving...

No, I think there are plenty of people that need to be educated on politics, race relations and the current campaign issues. It would be great if there was some solid reporting that could help clear the air, however it won't happen if fluff stories like this exist taking up the air time.

You could argue this is about correcting one irrational perception (racial bias/discomfort) by another irrational perception (TV reality) - so it's a fair cancellation on the same level of irrationality (the latter being IMO not uncommon among many voters)

I don't think 24 had a big enough impact to change the outcome of the primary, but it did help get people used to the idea of a president who didn't fit the traditional mold.
