kelpdiver 2 #27 June 25, 2008 Quote Vote and explain your reasoning. There is no third choice because its a pretty simpe question. If you vote yes, then are are saying that the Taliban are basically well meaning people who just got their toes stepped on by the big bad US and had to respond in the only way that they could. You're a funny guy. What's it like to live in a binary world? How do you even manage to walk around without the ability to see shades of grey?

VTmotoMike08 0 #31 June 25, 2008 I see plenty of shades of gray, but I also sometimes see pure black and white. Shades of gray- the differences between how Europeans and US citizens approach healthcare. Many world trade policies and organizations. Economic conditions that create great wealth for some while impoverishing others. Pure black- those who want to kill others for having a different religious belief than them. Puppy eating The Boston Redsocks.Pure white- probably no one. But I am damn sure that the US is more white than the Taliban if you want to put it that way. billvon 3,080 #32 June 25, 2008 >But I am damn sure that the US is more white than the Taliban if you >want to put it that way. Well, they are now. Back in the mid-1990's when we were strongly supporting them, we thought they were pretty dang white. (What scares me is looking at what happened to allow the Taliban to rise to power - basically a generation of Afghans who knew nothing but war and unrest, and wanted to impose strict controls on the population to prevent that from happening again.) Since we didn't find any, does that mean that the WMD rationale never existed?

It is not in the oil companies interests to pump it out at record rates, they'd rather the world paid record prices. But it goes beyond oil. Wars cost a lot of money to wage. Look at who is taking that money, and where that money is coming from. >Do you think the US deserved 9/11? iamsam 0 #49 June 26, 2008 Take ya pick dude My original point was more about the military spend. Seems to be a pretty fucking obvious conflict of interest going on within the US government, but that seems to be ok with most people. While we're at it, same deal applies to oil. let history judge. but what do I know
