Political bias in Justice Dept. hiring

Recommended Posts

Political leanings having a part in appointments to a political position? Say it ain't so!

I remind you of "Ninety three in '93".

It appears that they learned well from their predecessors, wouldn't you say?

Aren't these political positions, anyway?

No, they were not Class A (Senate confirmed) or Class C (not Senate confirmed, limited term) political appointments.

They were federal civil service positions.
To quote AG Mukasey: "the consideration of political affiliations in the hiring of career department employees is impermissible and unacceptable."

There seems to be a disproportiante number of graduates from Regent University School of Law, founded by televangelist Pat Robertson .

Just another step on the path to a Theocracy in America.

Spoken like a true "moderate" :D - be sure to let me know when Congress starts passing those bills for compulsory church attendance and when they require bibles at every public school, ok?

I bet waterboarding was part of the interview process (only on suspected "wackos" and "[ideological] extremists", of course).

If they failed the waterboarding part, they were fed to the wolves, if any.

Apparently NOT political positions (or NOT supposed to be). Try again.

The quote link has one great big lie in it. Even though I think he should have, Bush did NOT do as you implied. Bush should have gotten rid of most of those in the State Dept too.

Let's be quite clear about something: the DoJ's own Inspector General says that the Ashcroft/Gonzales hiring practices were ILLEGAL.

For shits and giggles, who put him in his office?
