StreetScooby 5 #2 June 9, 2008 Let's hope McCain's people, et. al., catch this. Obama is going to be terrible for the country. He's says anything, in a powerful, melodic way that captures the hearts of people listening to them. ianmdrennan 2 #4 June 9, 2008 You have to be kidding me? You actually, genuinely, believe that is legit? By legit, I mean (like Bill says) not a comment posted by a different user? The statement above is from the cached page you provided. It appears that pretty much anyone can post and that this post was removed because the campaign didn't want it there. What's next? Are you going to bash them for violating someone's 1st Amendment rights because they pulled the comments?Owned by Remi #?

ianmdrennan 2 #9 June 9, 2008 I realized a long time ago that you can't make people believe something they don't want to believe. You'll do what you want, and that's your right - just don't try and fool the rest of us In the meantime, I'll take Barak's stance on what HE SAY's he's for - vs what a comment on his webpage (which anyone can make) says. I guess, if I edited your sig line to say whatever I wanted, it'd be true by your standards since it's attached to your profile? Just plain ridiculous. billvon 3,109 #10 June 9, 2008 > That was weak, very weak. My friend, I am afraid you do not understand how websites work if you think this is a) really from the Obama website and b) is supported by the Obama campaign. If McCain supporters are really going to try to get mileage out of this, it shows how badly they are scraping the bottom of the barrel. But nevermind this. I hear that Obama's college roommate's sister's friend once said "I hate that fucking asshole" - and she was talking about a US MARINE she once dated! Did you hear that? OBAMA HATES MARINES! OBAMA HATES MARINES! Why, oh why, isn't this on the front page of the New York Times! It's because the media is all complicit in the COVERUP! Someone call Rush! Call Coulter! Call Malkin! Call O'Reilly! Get this news out there!

ianmdrennan 2 #15 June 9, 2008 Website comments are pretty much everywhere. Just like DZ.com they're intended for a community to discuss ideas and bounce things around. They too, like DZ.com, have moderators to make sure things stay in line with the ideals of the site (whatever they may be) - which is exactly why it was removed. Go ahead and blast Obama for whatever legitimate reason you have, but this is just too much of a stretch. It's like holding Sangiro accountable for everything that everyone says on this site - even items that have been trashed by the mods. There needs to be disagreements, discussion, etc, but when it gets out of hand (like that comment on the site) it needs to be removed....as it was. labrys 0 #16 June 9, 2008 QuoteSo Obama's campaign let's just anyone upload an article to his site? Are they nuts? Yet another reason to question their judgement. I guess the campaign assumes that the average reader of an open community blog understands that many different types of people will post many different kinds of things and that some will be over the top or incendiary. YMMV.Owned by Remi #?

He's says anything, in a powerful, melodic way that captures the hearts of people listening to them. He's a racist liberal advocating policies that failed in the 1960s. How is he racist? How is he anti-semitic? Specifics please. And while you're coming up with an answer I'm going to go post something on the McCain blog. Maybe something that's overtly anti-canine-avatarish. Hmmm...but that's not likely to work is it? Instead of McCain taking the heat for my post the headline will read something about a dog hating lib trying to hack a real American patriot's website. The horror! Meanwhile, there will still be absolutely no discussion of Obama or McCain policies.

billvon 3,109 #23 June 9, 2008 > How people can simply wash away 20 years of Obama's direct >personal involvement with people like Reverend Wright amazes me. Same way they can wash away McCain's solicitation of endorsements from TWO preachers who have said equally stupid things, I suppose. Because most reasonable human beings realize that what other people say isn't the same as what the candidate says. (Cue the "But Obama's idiot preacher was WORSE WORSE WORSE than McCain's idiot preachers!" excuses.) In the real world, we all have family and friends who do stupid shit. I have friends who are coke addicts, alcoholics and criminals. I had a friend years back who used to brag about how he could hit 130mph on the freeway. Does that mean I condone any of that stuff? Nope. And 90% of the people who live in the real world (and not the echo chamber of the Internet) realize that.
