DJL 235 #1 May 20, 2008 I'm wondering which statement, during it's actual delivery was more knowingly full of shit, not only to the audience but to the person delivering the line. There are just times when regardless of what a person has been told they just have to think..."that's a crock of shit." First, there was the now famous "Mission Accomplished." Which was obvious slapstick. Next, and it was less obvious but regardless of whether we should or should not have gone into Iraq the pretense was bullshit, everyone knew it, and all of a sudden Oop! No WMD's!. This was only countered by our favorite Iraqi Information Minister who still contends that he was saying the gosh darn honest truth. Then there's our on again / off again search for Bin Laden. Oh...and Maury just said that it's not mine."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
idrankwhat 0 #2 May 20, 2008 That was a tough one. I had to settle on "mission accomplished" for the most knowingly bullshit comment. I almost went with "no Americans in Baghdad" but then I'm not sure if there actually any IN Baghdad at the time. Certainly our weaponry was there and we were close to the front door but I don't know if we were "in". Of course the "we KNOW that they have WMD's" comment seems more like a hunch or educated guess than actually knowing. Such a tough call, how about adding "I'm a uniter not a divider"? That one's a "slam dunk".
skydyvr 0 #3 May 21, 2008 In terms of being full of shit, each quote falls way short in comparison to the poll itself. . . =(_8^(1)
BillyVance 35 #4 May 21, 2008 Baghdad Bob has to be the worst of all. He was boasting that US forces were not even inside city limits, when in all actuality, they were right outside the building he was broadcasting from. Sorry, I forgot the disclaimer: All opinions either stated or inferred in an internet discussion or poll may be taken as tripe. I believe it'll actually make children's history books for the next few hundred years. . . =(_8^(1)
DJL 235 #9 May 21, 2008 I don't think anyone will be able to say "mission accomplished" for at least a century without people thinking "oh shit"."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
