I've known you for a while on here, and usually you're above such comments. Issues of race often bring out people's true colors it seems. I could care less who likes who - vote for your choice, but to hide behind veiled racist remarks shows true character. I've lived through some pretty crazy racism (I grew up in apartheid), and let me tell you that the 'reasons' I hear here, and in that clip, aren't the first times I've heard them. I heard so many people saying that Nelson Mandela was going to 'hate the white man' and 'kick all the whites out' and 'next bullshit thing here'. All false and all born of fear. TankBuster 0 #61 May 20, 2008 What we're dealing with here in this thread is more bigotry than racism. If someone doesn't vote for Obama because he's black, that's bigotry. If someone says they'll vote for him because it's time we had a black president - that's bigotry, because it means they're not voting for the other two because they're not black. No better, and certainly an unwise way to make the decision in these critical times. Foreign policy, economic policy, ethical standards, statesmanship. That's what we should focus on. Unfortunately, bigots abound, on both sides of the race coin. I personally wish Herman Cain would run for president. He'd beat the living snot out of these three clowns. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

idrankwhat 0 #63 May 20, 2008 Quote Here are some links where he speaks his own Marxist / hypocritical words. These reasons, and others, are why I don't want him to be president. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioYrNYsNUfY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpSDBu35K-8 "Marxist"? "Hypocritical"? I think that you posted the wrong links if that's the point you're trying to make. He said that the decision to fire Don Imus should be left to the networks. That he doesn't like Imus' style of entertainment and would not be working for him. What's wrong with that? And then I guess you disagree with him on capital gains. That's fine and a topic worthy of discussion. So does that mean that you think that the very richest Americans should pay less in taxes than their workers? You think that paying as you go is a bad idea and that mortgaging our country to China is a good idea? I'll just have to disagree with you then. Personally I think the debate needs to be extended beyond the capital gains tax alone and more to the tax code in general and I'd like to think Obama has similar thoughts. He seems to be focusing on accountability and fiscal responsibility. However in neither of those links did I see anything "marxist" or even remotely "hypocritical". Ok, you're right. I misspoke by lumping the hurricane victims hardships together. I don't know of anyone who was starving or dying in Texas at the site where she made her comment. The starving/dying people I was thinking about were the ones left in New Orleans, before the surviving ones were taken to Texas. So I suppose you're right, her elitist comments should qualified to note that she wasn't looking at a dead person at the time, only their displaced relatives. That must be why she was able to raise such a compassionate conservative for a son. Here, to make up for it I'll give you another one of her greatest hits. From a "Good Morning America" in 2003. "Why should we hear about body bags, and deaths, and how many, what day it's gonna happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Or, I mean, it's, it's not relevant. So, why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

TankBuster 0 #66 May 20, 2008 Marxist is a strong word, but I still use it. Socialist is definitely an accurate word. If it is proven (and it is) that revenue decreases when CG rate is raised, and the only reason he would raise it is to "punish" someone for knowing how to make money - that is a Marxist position in my mind, and definitely not a principal our country was founded on. Most likely though - he won't raise capital gains - he was only pandering to an increasingly large block of voters who suffer from wealth envy. Re Imus, he said "he wouldn't be working for me." Well, at that time, his wonderful reverand was. I won't convince you, you certainly won't convince me. I am a man without a candidate. I don't trust Mr. O and I abhor his politics. But - this discussion is better than one centered on his skin. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

Ispell has been around 20 years, but it's not integrated. I'd view it as bloat, in any event. Outlook's spellcheck is so useless for my work that I cancel it just about every single time.
