billvon 3,092 #228 May 15, 2008 >Finishing the rest of the Chapter of creation, God then tells us in a >more explicit manner of the things Hehad already done. Sorry, that's not what the KJV says. It says quite clearly and explicitly in Genesis 2 that the order is: -Man is formed -Man is moved to the Garden -Cattle are formed Nothing about "ignore the order here, I'm just rehashing the first story." Now, you may choose to ignore that part, or explain that it's metaphor and not literally correct - both of which are absolutely fine. I would simply suggest that you do not condemn others for doing what you yourself do.

chuteless 1 #236 May 15, 2008 Yours is a perfect example of worldy understanding. Take a look at Genesis 1:27. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him, male and female, created He them. Then go to Chapter 2:18, 21-22-23. This is an example of how God had told of their being created in Chapter 1, and then explaining in more detail and God tells us just how He did those things. Then look at Genesis Chapter 5, 1-2. This is the book of the generation of ADAM, in the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made He him. MALE and FEMALE created He them, and called their name ( NOT ONLY HIS NAME, BUT THEIR NAME) Adam. For the man, it is written horizontally, and for the woman it is written vertically, and it so even to the end of the world. A D A M .............................................................. ........A ............................................................... ........D................................................................ ........A................................................................ ........M............................................................... and the M that is in the name ADAM is like the rib that was taken from him to form the woman, the letter M is taken from Adam to become Madam. It is amazing that you cannot understand what is clearly a description of creation in Chapter 1, and then being given more precise details in the following Chapters. God saved his final creation of a man in His own image until AFTER he had created all the other things, especially things that are considered beasts without a soul, and then God put man and woman in the garden of Eden. Once God created man from the dust, he gave it breath, and it became a living soul. That was the culmination of His creation, a man in His image and likeness. When God brought about the flood, it was because mankind was so sinful and the earth was filled with violence. The flood killed the cattle and everything else that wasn't in the ark, but it was mankind , God's creation in His image, that caused the flood. billvon 3,092 #240 May 15, 2008 >Take a look at Genesis 1:27. I did. Now take a look at Genesis 2. It clearly shows that humans were created first. >and then God put man and woman in the garden of Eden. And _then_ he created cattle, as explained in Genesis 2:19. It's not ambiguous at all. And you know what? It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you think men were created first, or cattle were created first. It doesn't matter if you think the King James Version is the correct one, or if you prefer the New International Version, the New American Standard Bible, the New King James, the Holman Christian Standard Bible, or even the original Aramaic. It doesn't matter if, in your version, "young girl" got translated as "young girl" or "maiden" or "virgin." It doesn't matter whether you think the Ark was measured in cubits or feet. What matters, in the end, is how well you follow the example set by Jesus. (IMO, of course.) In the end, that's the _only_ thing that matters.
