Aw come on Wendy My position here has not changed. My biggest beef is with the "because there is consensus" crowd. And to the alarmists dismay there is not nor can they shut the other side up. If this position is so correct and accurate why wont the likes of Al Gore debate it?"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." wmw999 2,589 #13 April 25, 2008 I don't think anyone is saying that man is the only contributor to global warming. No frickin' way. Overall the data (particularly when grouped) seems to point to a general worldwide warming trend. Some of it is natural, but the natural component doesn't seem to explain everything that's going on. So, the theory is that humans are contributing, because technology is one of the things that's different from the other warming trends. Why not have humans reduce that they're contributing, and get back to letting the earth do whatever it will, without our contributing willy-nilly? Think of seamen dumping trash over the side of the ships for centuries; the oceans are SO big. But now there are patches that aren't in good shape any more, and those patches aren't getting smaller. Look at this. We're doing it to space, too. And yes, we do have the potential of fucking that up. Look up "Kessler effect." We can't fix it. But maybe we can avoid making it worse.
