kallend 2,150 #26 April 22, 2008 QuoteQuote Well, I understand that the comfort of millionaire ballplayers is far more important than media coverage the election of the leader of the free world. Frankly, yes. The number of reporters needed to cover her campaign could fit in a King Air. Above that, we get dozens of lackeys looking for a new story, and thus minor remarks (she's a monster, blah blah) get turned into big stories. It doesn't actually contribute anything to the bottom line (informed public) and wastes huge amounts of resources in the process. Well, that's your opinion. IMO, the entire NBA, NFL, NHL and major league baseball could all shut up shop forever and I wouldn't mind.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Yes, it has yet to be shown that the MISSION is accomplished less efficiently. In fact if the number of reporters is now such that a second aircraft would have had to be chartered, the MISSION may be being accomplished more efficiently with the new aircraft. So until anyone comes up with actual data, I say you are all just being pissy for the sake of being pissy. And this would apply to Mccain's or Obama's jetliners too (since they each have jetliners, each haul lots of reporters around with them, and each have climate change amelioration planks in their platforms.... Add obligatory comment about the 2000+ gallons of fuel you've wasted skydiving. Millions of people are entertained by their fuel use. Dozens (?) are entertained by your's.
