Charlton Heston passes

Honest question here: is there something that Michael Moore distorted in this interview with Charlton Heston from Bowling for Columbine? I know Moore has a habit of editing to skew things to his views, but I found Mr. Heston's answers in this interview so painfully weak that the only way I'll ever remember him is this way...hardly a way I'd want to be remembered.

Yup, Heston got owned. I enjoyed the heck out of it.

Can't get to youtube on .mil, so I can't watch, but - is that the 'interview' that was hodgepodged together from several different clips of Heston appearances?

Yes, A liberal friend of mine thoght it was pretty despicable to have Michael Moore present it as an actual interview.

Yep.

Of course there are other people who think that liquor ads are real, and that their whining, crying, footstamping and impotent threatening represent some sort of "patriotism."

So you disagree that the NRA examines information (for example, the Constitution and writings from that time period), draws conclusions from that information, and promotes their conclusions?

Yes. I believe the NRA has preconceived conclusions and spins the facts accordingly.

They link to their sources right on the website. BATFE studies, crime statistics, and accident statistics are all right there if someone wants to bypass their conclusions and go straight to the source of their information. Or are you saying that BATFE is doing the spinning?

Oh yeah! It must be real hard to drill and confuse a man with alzheimer's. Why didn't Moore go interview Wayne Lapierre? Instead he went after an old man who's brain was rotting away. What a guy.:S

You keep saying he got owned. Tell me how he got owned and how MM is so correct on his views.:S

Later Mr. Heston. Have a safe journey and I will see you when I get there.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

I couldn't tell if this was Alzheimer's or just a case of a polite man unable to figure out how to deal with an uninvited asshole. When your brain is wired for civility, it's very confusing talking with such people.

Heston, in his prime, not too long ago, would have had that fat ass for breakfast. But he was aging and much to civil.

What a braniac Mr. Moore is. "So you've never been the victim of crime, why do you own a gun." Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Maybe Charleton will ask John Lennon to comment on that logic.

Please, someone out there, give me an idea of what gun control, in your mind, looks like for America.
The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

Laws that allow sane, law abiding adults to own the personal weapons they wish (within reason) while keeping them out of the hands of criminals and the insane.

Because Bill in his infinite wisdom has thought this out thoroughly, and has decided what is safe and sane forms of gun ownership, and what types we are allowed to have.:S

Wow, I would think that a person who considers himself to be a free thinker, and in favor of personal freedoms and rights, would not want to insist on restricting the rights of others.>:(

I guess I was wrong.[:/]

So even though I am not a criminal you still want to regulate what I can shoot? Why do you care whether I have a .22 or a 50cal?

Ummm, I'm pretty sure he didn't say anything about regulating what you can shoot.

However, I think it's prudent to keep you from having full-auto weapons, grenades, and mortar launchers.

OHHH, now you want to outlaw mortar launchers, too? that really sucks.

Frankly, the background check and waiting period for those things is bad enough. I'm mad, RIGHT NOW. So I don't want to wait to get one.

Which weapons are not within reason to you, and why?

I don't care whether you have a .22 or a 50cal. I do care whether or not you have shells full of mustard gas

Way to twist things Bill. I was talking about you wanting to regulate what I can buy to now mustard gas. I am more of a blister agent fan myself anyway.:P

I've been trained on the Stinger and can safely use one. So in Bill's world, I can have one?

Same here. I have been trained on the AT-4 so I can get one now. Ooh, Claymores! I can have those to! Thanks Bill!:P
