Then again perhaps he would not be as adverse to actually using the veto power of the POTUS, and opposed to the rubber-stamper we have now: http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0801767.html"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. TheAnvil 0 #4 April 3, 2008 I think the budget process under a McCain administration would be VERY, VERY interesting. He would probably veto until the Congress over-rode him, then go to the public showing them what they'd spent a bit more openly than has ever been done before. That would be a good thing. However, I don't believe that pork in a bill necessarily justifies a veto in every case, perhaps not even in most cases. The bill has already passed both chambers of Congress, which is often no small feat. It may be beneficial, important legislation. The pork may be a small price to pay, and the most responsible option the President has may be to sign the bill into law. It's better to prevent the pork from the bill prior to sending it to the President, IMO. Judging by the data you have provided in your first post suggests that McCain is a better legislator than Obama or Clinton to help accomplish that goal. Just my 2¢Math tutoring available.
