***Cuba announced on Friday that it will allow Cubans the unrestricted use of mobile telephones for the first time in the latest step by new President Raul Castro to improve access to consumer goods.

Cuba has the lowest rate of cellular telephone use in Latin America with the service been mainly restricted until now to foreigners and government officials

Here's where we truly see what socialism and communism are all about. They are letting the common people have access to cell phones now, what was previously the province of only government officials (likely SENIOR officials) and foreigners who worked there.

SOunds a lot like CUban healthcare, doesn't it?

In ANY socialized system, the established power gets the goodies at behest of the government. The lower class, who thinks that they are getting help, are either given zero access or lousy service.

Welcome to the world of the socialist utopia, folks.

A pity; [:/]
Lack of idiots on cellphones was one the the really appealing things Cuba had over the US.
