SpeedRacer 1 #1 March 27, 2008 http://mediamatters.org/items/200803250012 excerpt: Media continue to ignore McCain endorsers' controversial comments Summary: Media Matters has extensively documented the disparity in media coverage devoted to controversial comments made by supporters of Sen. Barack Obama and to those made by supporters of Sen. John McCain. Several major publications have reported only on the controversy over remarks by McCain supporter John Hagee targeting Catholics, but not his controversial statements about Hurricane Katrina, Islam, women, and homosexuality. Most of those same publications have yet to report on pastor Rod Parsley and his controversial remarks in the context of McCain's campaign. But he has the swift boat crowd doing it. He doesn't have to get his hands dirty and and it doesn't cost him a dime. Both sides are playing tricks like that and I think it's a lousy way to fight a contest. But the crux of the article is just pointing out how the double standard is being exercised through the so called "liberal" media.
lawrocket 3 #5 March 27, 2008 Why worry about that? McCain has got it locked up. It's much more relevant now to see what Clinton and Obama will do to each other. My wife is hotter than your wife.
SimonBones 1 #6 March 27, 2008 Quote The newspaper carried the story in our local area that was not carried nationally that there was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the Katrina came. And the promise of that parade was that it was going to reach a level of sexuality never demonstrated before in any of the other Gay Pride parades. So the New Orleans gays are mad that it rained on their parade? Had to.108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

PhreeZone 20 #8 March 27, 2008 Rod Parsley is on the verge of losing his tax exempt status for his mega church. I see him getting so close to McCain to keep the State of Ohio from revoking it since it will stir up a hornets nest if they do. If they revoke it between now and November then the state will be accused of playing politics since its democratic and Rod Parsley is supporting the republician party. The comments he's made are as far out there as Obama's reverends if not more so in the other way.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

With all of this coming out it is going to be one ugly dam campain. I for one, am not looking forward to sorting this all out, from or for either sideEdited to add: I fell like being stuck on stupid would be much easier "America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Getting zero coverage is not necessarily good because he needs some energy going into the election. As Ozzy put it, any publicity is good publicity so McCain either needs to bite heads off of doves or do things like go on middle east tours on the government teet to stay in the headlines. Obama and Hillary going at it over issues that are driven by the right wing noise machine will help neither of those candidates. They're running a tough line between distinguishing themselves from the other and tearing down the other potential nominee. It's indeed a tightrope. However, you'll notice that this thread is doing precisely what the OP was talking about. We're not scrutinizing McCain's tax returns or his ties to support from loud mouthed, over zealous, cross wielding hate speakers as feverishly as we are those of his opponents. Again, a "liberal media" WOULD cry out so
SimonBones 1 #11 March 28, 2008 Oh we do have a liberal media... but they are a business primarily. Do they see higher immediate ratings (=more $$$) trying to turn tables on an old white guy who's smooth sailing for the moment or continue to escalate and dramatize the "war" between a black dude and a white chick for taking over power. The media has turned against the dems plenty of times before, because there was money to be made at hand 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
idrankwhat 0 #12 March 28, 2008 Domestically, the closest thing I can find to actual "news" is on NPR during the morning and evening commute, or McNeal/Lehrer. I rarely get to watch the latter any more. Everything else is pretty much "Entertainment Tonight". We can do "The Innuendo", we can dance and sing When it's said and done we haven't told you a thing. We all know that crap is king, give us dirty laundry.
SimonBones 1 #13 March 28, 2008 I don't even have cable. TV is only good for watching movies. The radio just plain annoys me. I prefer to set my internet homepage to Google news. Every time I open a browser, headlines ranging from world, local, health, science, elections, and more show up from dozens of sources. This generally keeps the big media companie headlines channels from bothering me with the latest on Britney.108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
