Another Antarctic ice shelf collapsing

Recommended Posts

Kewl... I think GW needs to speed up.. since I live a couple hundred ft above sea level.. I should have some sweet waterfront property in the expanded Puget Sound if the ocean level rises to its maximum of 75 meters that it has in other interstade periods.

Them Ice Shelves... the wife nags you for months to put them up (so that she can put more bloody scented candles on them) and they just end up collapsing... I don't know why we bother:(

There is a theory that the Earth is itself can be thought of as a living organism. That it regulates itself in strange and mysterious ways. Maybe Global Climate Change and the rising of sea level is the Earth's way of dealing with the 27th state. ;)

How does this one measure up to the 1995 or 2002 event on Larsen A and B, respectively?

Not even close, is it?

IIRC, that resulted in a berg the size of Delaware. Wonder how that progressed? Have to do a little surfing.

Had the wrong state. Larsen B was the size of Rhode Island.

There is mention on wiki of Larsen C (the size of New Hampshire & Vermont combined) probably going in the next decade.

Just try to imagine the fllw scenario: Not only Amazon would enjoy some fine beach view but, me too!

Holland would've been gone and some romantic sea waves will be plashing around my ankles :) when leaving our cathedral after celebrating the Mass :):)

What about the lovely British islands, then? :o:o;)

I live in East ANglia... so it would go the same way as the Netherlands and the rest of the Low Countries:(.

But melting Ice Shelves wont do it.. because they a;lready float, so wont make a lot of difference to Sea Levels... It's when the Land Ice melts big time, that we will have problems, I believe.

Which is more likely when you remove a shelf. I'll be ok and my property value will probably increase with a 10-15 ft. increase in sea level.:)Unfortunately, my DZ will be gone:(
