lawrocket 3 #12 March 11, 2008 The problem is that there are SO MANY earmarks. (Note: for some reason they call them "earmarks" now instead of "pork."). And they DO make the news - all the time. They are typically found in local newspapers - about some federal money coming into the district. Indeed, Congressman are judged according to how much pork they can bring in. There is always news about "federal funding" for a dam, water, highway improvements, etc. In the Fresno Bee just a couple of days ago, the editorial board suggested a new WPA for rebuilding infrastructure. That would be "earmarks." That's the problem with trying to stop earmarking. Unless there is an agreement that nobody will do it, then nobody will stop. My wife is hotter than your wife.
